When a business owner deletes honest reviews that is a red flag. On 11/16/22 I spent $40 on six "assorted" cookies from this company. Five of the six cookies were rock hard and completely inedible due to ingredients which seemed to be artificial fruit extracts. The chocolate orange one tasted the way you would expect Orange Glo furniture polish to taste. I left a review with 2 stars stating that I wanted to love the cookies, but my batch was not fresh and some of the flavors were overpowered by this artificial fruit and or margarine flavoring. Additionally, I left constructive feedback related to their Door Dash ordering options because as it was you couldn't select flavors in the assorted boxes. As it stands to date you still cannot choose flavor options in boxes ordered on Door Dash. Instead of answering the review or offering a replacement the owner deleted it on Facebook. And again, I reposted a second review of my honest experience. Again deleted. So, a third time. She didn't just delete the review she completed blocked me. Terrible display of accountability. She didn't even have to offer a refund, but she could have offered fresh replacement cookies or even responded to the review instead of taking no accountability. There are way better cookie shops and bakeries in the area that deserve the hype over this establishment. Again, to the owner of Upstate Cookie Shack, grow up and take accountability and stop having your friends and family (which is easily determinable on Facebook) pad your reviews. I noticed other comments from individuals stating they had made orders and had issues removed as well. One individual stated they received a box of cookies filled with ants. Patrons should not be able to trash a business especially a locally owned business baselessly however owners should NOT have the power to remove honest reviews of a bad or defective product or experience. In my lifetime I've only left negative reviews two times. This is the second....

It's difficult to write this as I wanted this to be a great experience. It took me some time to order theses online because I was worried there would be a long delay or end up with broken cookies. I sent a message to them through IG and was told deliveries typically take about 2 days, which made me feel more comfortable. I ordered 6 cookies on a Monday morning and paid for the 1-3 day shipping. I was notified by email that they shipped out that Monday afternoon. I received the cookies the following Monday evening, 7 days later. I sent an inquiry in concerning the delay through IG on day 6 but have yet to get a response. They go out of their way to make sure the buyer knows they are not responsible for the delivery after the product leaves the store. Which begs the question, why offer 4 different delivery options? Of the 6 I received, 2 were inedible, one being the raspberry crumb tasted like it turned somehow and did not feel safe eating it. The 4 others we could eat tasted fine after a quick microwave warm up but keep in mind at this point the cookies are 8-10 days old. I live in Oklahoma so maybe if you live in a closer state you may get them on time. The 6 pack cookie box was going to be my Christmas gift to out of state family but I can't trust it after this experience. I am confident these cookies taste great in person...
Read moreI never even knew about this place, but stopped in 1 day randomly when i stopped by the computer store nest to it. I LOVE Oreos, and they had Oreo (Cookies and cream) cookies, Oreo fudge (best ive ever had, i wish theyd make more) and Oreo cheesecake,. So yeah, i fell in love lol. Im dating someone who takes care of her nephew and niece and i was meeting themn for the 1st time, so i bought 2 Upstate chocolate chip cookies to give them as an introduction (they are 8 and 11). Unfortunately i found out that day they hate chocolate chips. So i was bummed. Next time i brought 2 of the cookies an cream cookies (with white chocolate chips) and they LOVED them! So much that they literally ask for them everytime i go down to see them. Unfortunately though, Upstate Cookies doesnt have these type of cookies there every week. So i recently bought 2 boxes of them lol. Just to freeze and have on hand. But 1 of the boxes had regular chocolate chips, not the white chocolate chips. I called in to see if i could bring them and swap them for the correct type, but they were all sold out and it was friday so i guess they werent making more... so she just gave me a refund for the 5 cookies of the 12 that werent white chocolate chip. Right over the phone! I feel bad though because i still have the 4.5 cookies. But they were totally cool! I know this is a long story, but i just really thought that was nice...
