I was recommended this place by my cousin, who has gone here often. I went here the first time on Friday, thinking it would be not too busy. I was satisfied with my service in the beginning with the lady working on my nails and giving me the set of nails to choose for my gel manicure while she was working on my lemon pedicure. Once she was done I went to the manicure station and I showed her the initial leaf design I wanted on one finger on each hand. However, she said she was unable to do it and then I looked for a simpler design. She did the design on my right hand and then she put the gold glitter away and I had to remind her that I need it on the left hand as well. She sucked her teeth and was acting oblivious like I did not say that initially. She still messed up and ended up doing a design on two different fingers on each hand which is not what I told her initially.

Then I went to the pedicure drying station to dry my nails and there was a white lady sitting in front of me that was they’re before me. I handed over the credit card to the nail lady and gave $2.00 tip in cash. The nail lady goes back to the owner and tells her something in their native language. The owner comes up to me right after while the white lady is sitting right in front of me. She said I should I should tip 50% (my total was $68). I was like excuse me and then she said ok 25% or ok 20% and I am like what excuse me I do not have that much cash. She stood there and begged me sat me and ended up charging $5.00 from the credit card and gave me a horrible look.

Then the owner hurried me out of the drying station saying ok it is dry now and just hands over my sneakers and takes the flip flops off my feet; while the white lady was still sitting in front of me the whole time. The owner did not say or do anything to her at all. As I walked out I was still polite and said have a good day and no one had the audacity to turn around at all. I will never go here again because I am highly disappointed because of the hostile environment, begging for tip, and the treatment of certain customers. I would like to make one thing clear there is no standard rate for tip at a nail salon and that you had the audacity to ask for 50% tip is ludicrous. I’m not one to complain and write bad reviews BUT this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I made an appointment first of all thinking let me try a new place that looks clean, calm, relaxing and professional (the salons I usually go to have more of a tense loud atmosphere, so I was trying to avoid that) I arrive and the owner and the technician both were ranting and raving about my nails how nice, long and pretty they were asking if they were my real nails(as they are) I specifically asked to have them trimmed a little and to please keep the almond shape. By 3 nails in I noticed the nails were cut pretty short. I asked isn’t that too short to keep the almond? Technician was like yes you will see it’s ok. . Then the technician advised me that she may not be able to do almond , it’s either square or round . Long story short my nails are currently short and square not to mention uneven .I’ve been doing sns for 4 years now , they Did not apply sns correctly and did not even check to see if nails were cut to an even length. Then she has the nerve to be like it will grow back. So unprofessional applied top coats before cleaning my hands of excess powder. Way over priced for me not to get what i specifically asked for. I also feel like I was being rushed when I was there , it was definitely NOT relaxing and did notice how the owner and workers responded to the different types of ladies walking in there. Basically if you were a Caucasian regular or not you’re gonna get good service. Noticed a couple ladies with a little tan walk in and was told they were to busy to take them but a different scenario with others not even 5 minutes later. I should have never made that appointment, I would have probably got turned away but I would still have my nice long almond shaped nails. NEVER AGAIN what a waste of time and money. my wife went to this place today for her manicure ,which was scheduled three weeks before, after her manicure she requested for her next appt almost a month after ,the current owner is a male he had insulted her in front of all the customers, he raised his voice acted like he did not understand the date and the time and the month, even though she was very hurt she walked away being hurt very deeply , she returned back to him asked for an apology sure he did , he said oh I was in a great pain in my back so I have misbehaved. how could anyone can trust his mood changes . I am sure he can repeat the same attitude to an other innocent customer. Lady who did my nails didn't bother to clean the place well before she called her next customer . I do not accept this type of bad behavior and any customer don't deserve...
