If I could give negative stars, I would. This used to be the best Alfa Romeo/Maserati dealership in the entire region — back when it was Gold Coast. I’ve been bringing my multiple cars here for years. I drive OVER AN HOUR through garbage New York traffic every time — and I never cared, because it was worth it. For Alfa and Maserati owners, a good service center is everything. And this one used to be flawless.
Then Champion took over — and it has completely fallen apart.
They are understaffed, unorganized, and the owners are disrespectful to the very people who kept this place alive: both customers indirectly, and employees. I’ve never seen such a sharp drop-off in professionalism, customer care, or basic dealership functionality. Phones go unanswered. The parts department is a disaster. Service advisors are trying to cover for missing staff and picking up roles they were never supposed to handle. It’s chaos.
Let me be clear: Chris — the service advisor — is the only thing keeping this place from going under. He is, without question, the best service advisor I have encountered in my life — and I’ve owned everything from Bentleys and Lamborghinis to BMWs and Audis. He is elite, dedicated, responsive, and genuinely cares about the people and their cars. If Chris leaves… I’m gone — and so are the 7 other Alfa and Maserati owners I personally referred here who ALSO drive over an hour to come to this place. We’ll be making complaints to Alfa, Maserati, Stellantis, and this dealership directly — and believe me, we’re not the only ones.
It’s Dealers like this that are the reason amazing brands like Alfa and Maserati are failing. They make people hate the car they used to love. I’ve honestly considered selling mine just to avoid ever having to deal with this dealer.
Champion, you’ve run this place into the ground. What used to be a 10/10 dealer is now a negative. You’ve disrespected your staff, as well as your loyal customers, and destroyed a rare gem of a dealership. To everyone reading this, don’t bring your car here unless you want to deal with long waits, zero communication, and the feeling that nobody knows what’s going on behind the desk or in the shop working on your car that you worked hard for. I wouldn’t be surprised if Chris, the service advisor left. If he does, I will personally make sure this place has 5+ negative star reviews and the phones at Alfa, Maserati, Stellantis and campion corporate are all blowing up over complaints about this place. Chris deserves better and is the only reason anyone even...
Read moreMy review is based on several experiences I had with Gold Coast Maserati. I’ll start in order.
December 2021: our vehicle was involved in a hit and run while it was parked on the road (legally) in the middle of the night by a drunk driver. Our Stelvio was hit badly on the drivers side. The force of impact threw our car into a tree and it partially landed on the sidewalk. Causing severe damage to both sides. We contacted Gold Coast and had our vehicle towed to one of the body shops they use. Due to the damage & pandemic it took a little while to fix. Although the body shop did NOT deliver on its word to repair our vehicle to its original condition, Gold Coast did their best to correct the matter. They even provided us with a loaner vehicle to use while we waited for the repairs to be made. Which we appreciated since dealing with the multiple insurance companies for a rental was a nightmare. When we ultimately received our vehicle, Eddie delivered on his word and our vehicle was returned almost new!! We were impressed with some of the work they did with parts I thought had no hope (like a damaged back seat ruined by the first body shop). We were and are very happy with the results. They even guaranteed the parts/labor plus covered our next annual check up for all the inconvenience that was out of their control. I hope they reevaluate their relationship with that corrupt body shop.
June 2022: We were up for our oil change and check up. Eddie, kindly made an appointment for us to bring our car in with very little wait. We appreciate him for accommodating us. The oil change was done well and we are happy with the service.
I give this review 4 stars ONLY for the poor attitude a couple staff had -mainly Greg. There is no reason to treat customers as though they are a nuisance or fools. It’s not professional or in good taste. Word of mouth is the best form advertisement….one would think that you would want to protect that. However, our experience with Gold Coast was redeemed by Eddie and it ended on a positive and satisfied note.
They really do fantastic work and I...
Read moreI don’t normally write reviews, but what’s happened to this dealership recently is unbelievable.
This used to be the best Alfa Romeo/Maserati dealer in the entire NYC/Long Island area. When it was still Gold Coast, it was worth driving an hour or more just to get proper service — and I did, many times. It was one of the very few places you could actually trust with these cars.
Then Champion took over… and it’s been a disaster ever since which had to be hard to do because it’s only been a couple months.
The place is clearly understaffed, and it shows. Phone calls go unanswered. The service and parts departments are in chaos — they literally have service advisors trying to do the parts department too. That’s not just inefficient — it’s unfair to the staff and horrible for customers. The entire experience feels like a mess from start to finish.
The only saving grace? A service advisor named Chris. I’ve dealt with many service departments in my life across high-end brands, and he’s hands-down one of the best I’ve ever encountered. The guy is professional, responsive, and actually knows what he’s doing. But even he seems overwhelmed now. Can’t imagine how long he’ll stay, the way things are going.
This place used to be a 5-star dealership. Now I’d give it zero if I could. If it weren’t for Chris, I would’ve walked away already. But if he leaves? I’m done — and I know a group of fellow owners who feel the same. We’ve already started filing complaints with corporate — Alfa, Maserati, Stellantis — because the current ownership clearly doesn’t know how to run this luxury dealership, or any dealership for that matter, I used to have a Toyota Prius (a while ago) and their service and parts department was notably better than this.
It’s sad to watch. What used to be an incredible experience has become the exact kind of dealership that turns people away from owning these cars altogether. Don’t support a place that treats their employees like this and more importantly, don’t support A dealership that treats you and your...
