A really great bookstore in a quaint cute town.
It’s harder and harder to find any small independent bookstore, let alone one that’s welcoming and friendly. This shop is all of that and more. It’s sparkling clean and updated, with a huge selection tailored to a variety of wants.
I love a bit of an edge and sense of humor, and this place has it. There’s a banned books section on the left when you walk in, and incredibly catchy recommendation cards by the staff on shelves throughout the shop. I’m not a big history reader, but Claire’s rec of “Swashbuckling Sugar Daddies” for the book “Pirate Enlightenment, or the Real Libertalia” by David Graeber, hooked me and I had to buy it.
When I got up to the counter to pay, the staff was incredibly friendly and we got into a conversation about books and video games and everything in between. I signed up for their free rewards program too, and I can’t wait to come back, find some new good reads, dive into some more great talks, and rack up some loyalty points.
