Last night was the worst experience of my life that I've ever had at a restaurant. I was seated with my friend and we ordered a few drinks and an app. We were in a deep conversation and taking our time, not sure what to order, lost in conversation. The restaurant manager Robert came over and asked to move us across the restaurant. I have a medical condition including horrible scoliosis and prefer sitting where we were already seated because chairs really hurt my back and we were early enough (on purpose) to get a booth. I explained I didn't want to move our table after being there about 25 minutes, just as we were about to order dinner after finishing our app and two drinks. He left and came back, and asked to move us again in an extremely condescending tone. It felt like he was trying to rush us out of the restaurant or at least out of our table. Maybe they don't like that some people take their time to order because I felt like I was being pestered which is a really strange way to feel at a restaurant. He was hovering over our table so I repeated that I had no problem moving over, but wanted to stay in the booth section of the restaurant. Before I could again explain my medical condition, which I told staff about when I was being seated originally- he then told us to "leave" in a very loud voice. I was confused and couldn't believe he was trying to kick us out for just wanting to stay where we were seated, or at least in that general area. He continued to embarrass my friend and I that I told him straight up his customer service was horrendous. He then proceeded to tell us that the bill was on him, and if we didn't "cooperate" he was calling the POLICE. Over a table! I still can not believe it. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager! I am still shocked at his poor customer service and asked to speak to the owner and he actually laughed in my face! My friend and I were horrified on every level. We got up, deeply disturbed at how we were just treated and it completely ruined my night. Let me say, I have been coming to Wild Honey since a young girl and I was a loyal customer. I will NEVER be back again. Disgusting...
Read moreDecided to try this place for a birthday celebration, and was primarily a nice evening with a little disappointment. The service was very good and friendly. The ambiance was warm and cozy although very dimly lit. The menu was simple yet ample, and what was nice was the printed special menu with excellent selections. We ordered Thai shrimp appetizer, and a spinach, truffle baked oyster appetizer which were both excellent. We asked the waiter if the wedge salad was large enough to split for the two of us and he said yes it was and had it split for us , the only problem was that it was really a portion for one so what we got was a very small half portion of salad, barely enough for one. For the main course, we ordered the double cut pork chop, and the pork osso buco with butternut squash and bacon risotto which was excellent. But here's where it went a little South. When I took a bite of the osso buco, part of it was actually refrigerator cold while the rest of it was barely warm, so i asked to have it returned and heated up. The portion was fine and the taste was great it was just cold. Not sure how that could happen since they took their time bringing us out the meal, which was okay because we weren't in a rush. The waiter told me it would be only two minutes and he would have it back out to me. 2 minutes was closer to 10 and when I got the dish returned to me it was a whole new serving which was nice but the new serving tasted nothing like the original. There was no bacon flavor at all and the portion of osso buco was much smaller. The upside was they gave us an extra glass of wine which was a very nice touch, and the reason why they got four stars instead of three. $160.00 with tip and we only had one glass of wine each that we paid for. Not sure I'll...
Read moreNestled on the first floor of the historic Moore building is the deliciously charming Wild Honey restaurant. Right here on July 4, 1903, President Roosevelt sent the very first official 'around the world' congratulatory message on the opening of the Pacific Cable. Taking between 12 and 9.5 minutes westward and eastward, respectively, the word now spreads in just seconds about today's Wild Honey delectable specials few want to miss. So, as we were a table of four, of course, we ordered at least five entrees! Who could pass on specials when one is marinated Angus Hanger Steak, and the other is Carribean Red Snapper. We also ordered the Sea Scallops and Melted Leek Ravioli. But even before dinner arrived, we also did enjoy the briny taste of local Pine Island Oysters and Spinach Truffle Baked Oysters. Add your favorite beverage (I chose Prosecco while my hubby enjoyed a light smoky Oban Scotch Whiskey.) Collectively, we all agreed, dinner was superb and the sides divine. Two diners even pushed further by ordering the delicious Georgia Peach Crisp. I finished my meal off with a hot cut of delightful green tea while my hubby chose 20 year Taylor Fladgate Port, he feels of exceptional taste. As we left, I couldn't help thinking I dined on food fit for a President where the only President from Long Island once lived and called 1 East...
