UR Medicine Labs – Penfield — Local services in Town of Pittsford

Angela is an amazing phlebotomist! She’s interactive with her patients, efficient, and clearly loves her work. I did not have a long wait time, but it’s a lab so you will have to expect to wait. And, to be quite honest, to reduce the chances of a mistake, I personally don’t mind that the phlebotomist isn’t rushing to move on to the next patient. In terms of customer service, I found the receptionist that was there to be friendly. The only issue that I had was the sign-in sheet which listed each patient’s full name. The names should be blacked out before the next patient signs in. I work in healthcare and patient privacy is of the utmost importance. I immediately brought it to her attention and she apologized and took care of it without hesitation. So, unfortunately, that is a major negative and led to them only getting 4 stars.

Please advocate for yourselves. If you notice unprofessionalism, call it out! I don’t tolerate it. You’re rendering a service in which I am paying for so I expect professionalism across the board. People will continue to behave this way if you don’t address it on the spot. Negative reviews won’t...

many people show up early for fasting or non-RX testing. the lab opens at 7:30 with a line down the hall. there was only 1 technician and when the staff asked people if they were in a hurry, I said yes as I was without my medication for over 12 hours; she put me toward the top of the pile of patients to be seen. another patient did not have orders & left. the same staff person who put me to the top of the list, looked at me after the OTHER patient left & said "oh, I thought you were leaving" I replied "no, that was another patient; I need to be seen sooner given I have been without my medication"; another 20 minutes went by so I went to the desk to ask the status. the SAME staff member looked at me & said "oh, I thought you were leaving, so I pulled you out of the pile"; needless to say that was a wasted hour of my time and I did not get my test done. URMC needs to get it together and staff these labs...

I usually don’t write reviews but after the experience I had here today, I thought it was necessary. The blonde woman working at the desk was so awful and rude to everyone that came in to have blood work done. She was barking out orders and responding with such attitude it blew me away. I would have included her name, but she suspiciously had stickers covering it up in her name tag - coincidence? I bet not! I was there for ten minutes waiting and I witnessed her sass and belittle patients from teenagers to elderly individuals. The worst part was when she stopped working patient sign-ins and ended up drawing my blood, just as dismissive and rude as she was behind the glass. Feel awful for the very sweet and jovial gentleman that was working with her as he deserves some type of medal for having to deal with her as well as the patients that are upset after the way they are treated by her! Won’t be visiting...
