Rating of Europa deli CAFE: Food very good, prices reasonable, food presentation fine, service poor.
Although Europa deli next door (joint ownership) is primarily eastern European foods (Ukranian, Russian), the cafe is pretty broad spectrum menu-wise, serving all tastes - crepes, sandwiches, salads, etc.
I had no qualms whatsoever about the food - it was the service. We arrived 1:15 pm on a Saturday, with about 5 (maybe 6) of the ~8 tables occupied. Menus at were received at 1:30, and the first person's food arrived about 2:00. Then 5 minutes later the second persons food arrived, and about 10 minutes after that (2:15), the last person in our party finally received her salad. With the other two of us already having eaten, the last person was finished with her salad by 2:35. After waiting, forks in place on our plate for 10 minutes, I finally fetched the check, paid and left at 2:40
The problem is - there were 2-3 people serving the entire area, and that may have included the chef - just too short staffed for the 20 guests in the cafe. They claimed that everyone seemed to have arrived at about the same time, and this is very possible - so consider this only one data point. In short, if you want a good long lunch to catch up with friends - try this definitely. Trying to grab a quick, high-quality bite to eat? Perhaps wait 'til...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have found a gem of a Deli! If you like the food of Eastern European Cuisines then you need to check this place out! This place is absolutely delightful! A great selection of canned goods, ranging from meat to pickles, noodles and breads, but what really impressed me are the homemade traditional foods they so lovingly offer from their own kitchen. Stuffed cabbages, meat and vegetable stuffed noodles, along with some impressive desserts. On top of all of that, there is the most wonderful couple running the business, (I'm sorry I didn't get their names). Incredibly helpful and very friendly. They have been in business for a long time and still have the passion and respect for customers. You will not be unhappy with this place, one of the nicest European Deli's I've ever been to. I absolutely recommend that you go and check em out, I definitely will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family and I had to wait for a table at the restaurant next door to this deli and Cafe, so we decided to walk over and explore while we waited. This little deli and cafe is a hidden gem, I bought homemade cookies and homemade soup along with some really good candies. Do I know exactly what the lady said to me while I was there? No. Will I be shopping here? Most definitely yes. The soup I bought was the best soup I've ever had in my life. My husband looked at me like he wanted to marry me again when I fed him the soup. It started with a "z". The cookies are delicious! They brought tears to my eyes and I had to call my Mother and tell her that Grandma's got competition. This little cafe and deli may have been here for years or may have just appeared through magic, either way, make sure you get over to this deli if you've got a hankering for some home...
