Read moreThis is from eight years ago. There was some tall thin woman with glasses and brown hair managing the front desk. She probably doesn't remember me, so the review is being written because I disagreed with how she handled the situation. I don't know if she still works there. Insufferable, overbearing, patronizing and controlling woman. She treated me as if I was intellectually disabled. Competent woman who it would not have hurt her to be put in her place- she needed it. Sharp manager( or whatever management position she had); disrespectful woman. I wanted to see where the bathroom was located. I had stepped a little into the hall where the offices were located, nothing major. She gave too much attention to what I had done, something that as a manager I would have let go after a customer answered that I was looking for the restroom. She told me those were offices; telling me where the bathrooms were would have sufficed. She probably thought I wanted to steal something. If that's the case, I will let it pass. You do it out of distrust, that is totally fine. I mean they don't have to trust you. You are being very cautious. Nothing wrong with that. The thing is she simply had drawn attention because my behavior was off. She also told the guy at the coffee shop they have that someone was waiting. Waiting was not a big deal. It was just her overall personality. She had a very domineering approach in doing her job. Yeah, I did not like nor agreed with how she dealt with me as a customer. I did not need her to do half the things she did, nor did I need her to handle it in the manner she had handled. She will probably never come across this, but that is okay. I feel like I am taking a step in standing...
Read moreDefinitely pros and cons to the hotel. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again but not because of any specific issues - except maybe the duvet (see below). There are just so many other hotel options available in the area and nothing stood out here as being worth a return visit. ||The pros include the friendly staff including the ones at front desk and in the bistro. |Ample parking but a bit of a weird location right off the highway. |The rooms were dated, and the duvet simply had a sheet underneath it with a duvet spread on top - ie: it wasn’t enclosed in a duvet cover. This makes me weary - I sure hope they replace the duvets in between guests. |Housekeeping only every two days which didn’t apply to us. I know it’s a cost cutting measure but it took away from feeling like you’re on a vacation. |Bathrooms were tiny and the toilet flush was so loud! It would wake up others if you flushed at night! ||All in all, it’s what you would expect for the price point. It didn’t feel like a Marriott hotel - more like a refurbished Fairfield Inn or something. One thing I did like was the staff put together a list of their favourite restaurants in the neighbourhood along with their distance from the hotel. That was a nice touch!|The breakfast that was included in the special room rate package...
