I love my current doctor at UHS they cover everything in detail, update my managed care plan regularly, and work well with my other doctors. After all its a team effort. However, I gave 4 stars because the staff at check in and check out could use some basic refreshers when it comes to answering phones and checking patients out at the front end. My doctor is going on leave and we discussed my choices as to who would be the best fit for my case while they are away. We went with another MD because my case deals with rare disorders. Upon checking out I let them know three things I had lab work to be done. a referral order, and my doctor would be on leave and my next appt is being referred to another doctor at UHS. When making my next appt she assigned me an RN. I had to correct her in that my doctor specifically referred me to an MD. While I agree the RN's are qualified in their jobs, my specific case needs someone more qualified and back up documentation of my care with a bit more weight. Example if this were a workers comp case what an RN says holds no weight over what an MD says. That's just how it is and an RN would need an MD to sign off on diagnosis and treatment. So it's of importance to make sure you are referring patients or scheduling patients with the correct people. Plus there's a space issue with the new door being closed by that check out window. When someone opens it they almost hit you with the door. This is a new change there with a key pad I'm sure it is for security reasons but I don't want to be the patient getting wacked by that door when it happens. There's no place to move too, that's where the checkout window is. This should be addressed as a preventive measure for patient safety. I also like the person who did my blood work, no soreness, no bruise. There was a woman there who every time would bruise my arm up and it would get quite sore. Hope she's there when I go back the next time, friendly and informative. Did you know they changed the regulations for after getting blood work done a study found you are less likely to bruise if the arm is left not bent and pressure is applied. My mother knows that something is severely wrong with her health but Gina kept ordering bloodwork and it keeps showing that my mother is fine. My mother is certainly not fine. I know this. She knows this. I live with my mother and see her struggle and suffer every day. Gina is always very bad at listening to my mother. Once I spoke up for my mother out of desperation about Gina to one of her nurses and that nurse snapped at me and accused me of verbally abusing Gina behind her back which sounded insane to me because all I said was that Gina time and time again neglects my mother and she needs to order proper thorough tests to figure out what’s wrong with my mother before it’s too late. I swear that’s all I said! If my mother is diagnosed with anything terminal I will sue because Gina Callahan has ignored my mother for 7 years despite her tears and pleas. She didn’t order proper testing until THIS YEAR. Finally she was sent to the proper places for proper testing after her desperately complaining that she needs that for SEVEN YEARS!! What if whatever my mother has was caught right away because Gina had listened? I’m infuriated as is but if my mother is terminally ill I will sue. I’m sorry it’s just that I see my poor mother degrade every day and it tortures me that there is nothing I can do. Furthermore I myself have symptoms of severe arthritis. Gina is my doctor too and ordered bloodwork to test me for arthritis and the tests came back saying that I don’t have arthritis. After that Gina did nothing further to find out what is wrong with me even though I’m wracked with bone and joint pain all day and night which I’ve reported to Gina. Read moreAs usual, from checking in to checking out, the experience was without incident. I did not have to wait long to be seen. I was summoned by a nurse roughly 10 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment time. The nurse was pleasant and efficient. She was responsive to my questions.
I did not wait long for Lauren Crane, FNP, who took over the helm after Dr. Leonti, who had been my PCP for years, and the best in my opinion, left for NJ to join his daughter in practice.
I was fortunate to have Ms. Crane as my provider. She has the same caring qualities as Dr. Leonit, and her sincerity is as genuine as Dr. Leonti's. Moreover, I am grateful for her sense of humor and wit -- two of my favorite characteristics within Dr. Leonti.
I am fortunate to have FNP as my PCP. And to me, she does all but writes prescriptions, and I see her as my physician. Lauren is the best.
I had to have an x-ray and bloodwork done. The drawing of blood usually disturbs me. That bloody white tape is troubling and when most say "pinch" it is just that only emphasized! Spoiler alert: strike the above that day.
The phlebotomy technician said pinch and I did not flinch! I felt nothing. Amazing. Perfection. I looked over at her as she was drawing blood bewildered that it went so smoothly! And I said just that. NO WHITE TAPE! She used a nice brown tape and no crud on my skin! Thank you.
The x-ray technician was great. Mild-mannered. He explained the procedure and what I needed to do in a few words and made that part of my visit go smoothly.
Checking out went without a hitch, and the staff was accommodating. They made me a copy of some paperwork.
The place is clean and nicely furnished. Admittedly, it disturbs me to see the damage done to some of that furniture. It makes me think of how that person(s) live and I question their lack of respect for...
