Time for a fair and accurate review. First, the good stuff: clean, well-lit, machines clean and working (with a proviso below), bathrooms clean, change machine worked properly, no blaring music or obnoxious TV, WiFi available. Now the problems: 1. This may be the most expensive laundromat in the U.S. As full-time RVers, we've done laundry in about 32 states in high-dollar tourist areas and remote rural locations. We can almost always do a week's laundry in 1 1/2 hour for $23-27. It took us over two hours here and cost exactly $40 and we took home some clothes still noticeably damp. There are no normal sized washing machines; the smallest are "double-load" for $4. A larger machine was $7.25. We used 5 machines and none of them were overloaded. The dryers run 32 minutes for $2.50 and you can add time at 3 minutes per quarter. Again, we did not overload any dryer. One of our loads ran 64 minutes and the fitted sheet elastic was still damp. Item 2. Random washers and dryers displayed signs: "Please do not use this machine." It soon became obvious that these machines were reserved for local resorts and cabins to wash room linens; the general public was not wanted. The reserved machines are scattered through the business--we wound up using dryers 1, 7, 8, 18 and 22 because so many dryers were restricted. Finally, because of the good reviews of this location, we drove about 45 minutes to use this business. By the time we left, we were stressed and irritated and felt that we had been cheated--as much by the inaccurate reviews as by the management. It is clear that repeat business is not a priority for this laundromat and we will honor that model. We have lots of...
Read moreI will NEVER come back here again. Soap N Suds is considerably more expensive than the other laundromats in the area but it was late at night & I needed internet access. I used 4 washers & 3 dryers, so I was certainly a paying customer. I had 1 dryer still going & was working on some paperwork online. The attendant walked right passed me working at my computer & promptly turned off the internet 25 minutes before they closed. I had been working on an important document & lost everything I had been working on for the last 30 minutes. There was no need to turn the internet off almost a half-hour before they closed. At the very least, the attendant could have announced he was going to turn off the internet.
In addition, there were some small towels & washcloths the person who used the washer before me had accidentally left in the machine. I put them on top of the washer because I thought the person might come back to get them. I watched the attendant check them over & then go put them in his cleaning cart. The other laundromats have a lost & found. They don't take items left behind before the customer has a chance to even realize an...
Read moreI used this laundromat this morning and it was very neat and clean with nice machines. Signage on the door indicated masks required, only 2 people per family allowed in, no hanging around waiting. Put your items in the washer, leave come back, put your laundry in the dryer, leave and come back. Don’t fold your laundry here. Wow, I thought, this place sounds like they have a system down for limiting traffic and keeping things safe. There were a half dozen or so people in the place. Midway through loading the wash in the machine. I noticed a woman walking around the place without a mask. I thought at first she might have been a customer. I realized when I returned to use the dryer that it was the person working there, as she was working behind the area where they press sheets and again was freely moving around the floor periodically without a mask. It’s misleading to represent that your business is taking measures to be safe when you have people working there who don’t follow the stated safety measures. Had I known this, I would have not have even entered...
