We are intensely appreciative of and loyal to George’s Music in Berwyn. It’s not just a retail store to us… it’s both a destination and a resource! Wayne, Alex and the crew set a high bar for what it means to be customer-focused and our experiences with this store have been universally and consistently outstanding. It says everything about the professionals at George’s that when our then 13 year old son first visited the store to do further research on a Martin guitar for which he’d been saving for two years, Wayne and Alex treated him like a fellow musician rather than a child. They gave him their full attention, talked to him, learned about him, advised him and encouraged him. When our son had finally earned the funds to order the guitar, Wayne proceeded to set what would be the experience of a lifetime in motion for him by creating the opportunity for Sean to pick up his new guitar directly from the Martin Factory. Their excitement over the occasion very nearly matched our own! We have been blown away by their attitude toward our son and their unfailing patience, enthusiasm, interest and encouragement. After a recent purchase of a new set of distortion pedals, Alex took the time to follow-up with an e-mail to see if Sean was happy with them and if he had any questions. Only from George’s does a customer receive this kind of attention and service. Read moreWhat a great alternative to the "big-box" music stores! The staff at George's is incredible. Quick story - I bought a nylon string guitar from another company. I also purchased the extended warranty which includes strings and setups twice each year for two years. When it was time to put new strong on, I decided to give it a try myself. First time putting nylons on - it didn't work out very well so I took the guitar in to see if the big store could help me out. Here's what happened - they told me they couldn't look at it for about two weeks. I left the guitar thinking they'd decide to take a quick look and call me to say they had it fixed up for me. That didn't happen. When I called three days after dropping it off, they told me the only way to get it done faster was to pay a $40 rush charge. I picked up the guitar, took it in to Justin at George's Music and not only did he fix my problem on the spot, he also took his time to do a very thorough job of teaching me his technique for nylon string installation. Here's the bottom line for me - from now on, I'll buy my guitars from George's. I love that there are still small, independents in the marketplace and when they go out of their way for customers the way these guys do, I want to support them. I visited some music stores in the area with my kids but did not quite receive the service I desired. They could not fix the problem upfront unless they got the guitar in their workshop, which had a long turn-around time. That's when I walked into George's....
We were instantly welcomed by Justin. After having some fun talk with my kids, he asked me what brought me to the store and I explained the problem. He was very friendly and eager to help. He tried a few different things with his tool-set right there at the table, but it was not an easy fix. I was quite impressed by his persistence and never-give-up attitude to solve the problem. He also went out of his way to substitute the jack's hex-nut with a matching part he procured from another guitar in the store. Afterwards, he took his time to verify the fix and ensure that everything was working properly.
I thanked him and asked how much I owed him, but he refused to accept any money! Our experience at George's was nothing short of top-notch customer service!
We would recommend their services to everyone! Now I know I'll only be going there for all my music-related needs.
