Hassan & Bros — Local services in Troy

If you're in the know, Hassan brothers has been the top place for meat in the entire state for years. Many of us have fond memories of their epic eastern market location. Not everyone knows their original location is still thriving in troy, just west of 18 and Dequindre.

It's an hour drive from my house, and I still come here. That says everything, but if you want to know why :

This is THE BEST place for meat - understand, you're not paying a little more for a jump in quality - you're paying a small premium for the VERY BEST. This week everyone wanted to know why the boneless chicken thighs I got from Hassan brothers were bigger than the chicken BREASTS they got a a regular store.

With prices rising at kroger's and meijer's, it's making less and less sense to shop anywhere else.

You're not a gourmet, or even a foodie if you don't have a full service butcher in your life, and I can't commend the staff on their knowledge, skill, patience and kindness enough. I needed a father's day lamb roast for my brother in law who's from the U.K. - they helped me find just the right cut and gave me advice on preparing it.

As fantastic as it is, meat is not the only reason to flock here - it's a small but mighty grocery store. It has the MOST fantastic almonds - huge, flavorful and not dried out. Honestly, sometime I just stop in for almonds and walnuts!

There are all the secret spices you need to make your mediterranean , middle eastern and near eastern dishes work - from inexpensive to the very highest quality.

I cook for a living, and this place not only gets me excited, this shop and it's staff have touched my heart. I can't recommend it...

Called them before I headed over to confirm that they had prime beef short ribs in stock and that they could cut it "Korean style" (LA galbi/kalbi or flanken cut). Pleasant gentleman confirmed that had it in stock, choice or prime and could cut it in any way I wanted.

Headed over and was greeted by the same gentleman and he knew I was the individual I called for the beef short ribs. I was the only customer there at the time (came near opening) and my order was cut and ready within 5 or so minutes. He showed me a test piece of the cut before he proceeded further to ensure that I was satisfied with the thickness of the cut and I was. He also showed me how he liked to cook his beef short ribs which was just leaving it whole (Dino Ribs). He had his employee show me a picture and they looked great.

The Middle Eastern meat markets around here always have the best prices on meat. I'd definitely recommend you check Hassan Brothers out for any future meat purchases, you'll get great quality meat at a lower price than your typical...

Had an absolutely amazing experience here! I saw some sales posted on Facebook and thought I had to take a chance for the summer season to stock up on meats. I called ahead and asked if the sale items were available (last day of sale). Had a wonderful interaction. I made the 45 minute drive and it was so very worth it!!! The store is clean and well stocked with great options. I spoke to the gentleman (he gave me his name but i can't spell and would fear butchering it) we went over the best options for my family and situation. They carried the large boxes to the car for me and and got me on my way. I will definitely venture back, and refer to all of my friends and family.
