I have been shopping at Nino's for YEARS! It is my go-to place when I want my event to be special ;-) I already love Nino's, but I had never ordered a cake from them before. I ordered one for my son's birthday and party. I spoke to Kristin. She was absolutely lovely and so helpful, patient and very kind. The cake was absolutely beautiful, so reasonably priced and by far and away the BEST cake I have ever had in my entire life! I have ordered cakes from all over metro Detroit, from Birmingham and beyond and it did not even come close to comparing to Nino's. I got the white cake with the whipped cream type frosting with strawberries on the inside. It was super moist, not too sweet and just perfect. Kristin, thank you so much for all of your help and your outstanding recommendations. I have been shopping there for over 16 years and have always had nothing but the best experiences. But I just could not get over how delicious and wonderful that cake was and how much everyone raved about it at our party. Thanks for making our special event, even more special. First off I really wish Nino's would open a store in Minneapolis/St Paul. I am kind of a geek when it comes to shopping especially for groceries. I am in the Detroit area for work and finally made a point to try Nino's out. First off the store is immaculate. The produce looks amazing and nothing is out of place. If you have OCD you'll love shopping here. I was expecting prices that aligned with whole foods but was pleasantly surprised that the prices are very good maybe a little more than Meijer or Kroger. I was able to buy 5lbs of raw unpasteurized honey for $33 which is an amazing deal so I bought 2. The meat market looks great the bakery is awesome the deli has an amazing selection and the mini pastries were delicious. They also have a nice little grab and go sushi section that was very tasty if you enjoy simple rolls. The liquor selection was also very nice and they have a small selection of cigars. I picked of a bottle of their Don Julio's special barrel of tequila which I can't wait to open when I get home for the holidays.
