Don’t waste your money. I’ve gotten better off the rack suits at Macy’s than a Jos A Bank custom suit.
I purchased a custom suit from this location about 3 months ago and wanted to wait until I wore it on numerous occasions. Custom tailored suits are supposed to look custom, but I can honestly say every time I put on my suit it looks like I’m swimming in it.
When I got measured back in March, the salesman asked me what size pant I usually wear. I told him, and his response was, “well you must have put on some weight!” Not a good start and I had not.
He didn’t ask anything about what style I liked or anything. I have a narrow frame and many jackets look way too wide in the shoulders. While trying on the jackets to get a sense of what fits, I mentioned it to him and he said, “that’s why you’re getting custom. It will all look much better when it’s tailored.” Cool.
Fast forward to the first fitting: the jacket was horribly wide and pants were WAY too baggy. I told him my concerns and he assured me (again) that these issues would be fixed with the final tailoring.
Come my final fitting, things were looking better. HOWEVER the issues I mentioned in both of the previous fittings weren’t properly taken care of. Shoulders way too wide. Pants way too baggy. Rise way too long. I mentioned it yet again and instead of trying to fix the issue, he brought over another sales associate to have him tell me that it looked “like it should.”
I don’t care what either of their opinions were. I did not feel like it looked good and spent a decent amount of money on the suit. I had an event for which I purchased the suit the following weekend and it couldn’t be tailored again in time. Also, they assured me that the issues I mentioned were not fixable, as the style of this suit wasn’t a narrow shoulder and they didn’t even carry shoulders as narrow as I wanted.
Now, I need to wear a suit for work and every time I put on this suit I feel frustrated and end up opting for another in my closet I got off the rack at...
Read moreFor someone who doesn't wear suits often and not sure what I'm doing when it comes to suits, I've never seen such poor customer service, Which is saying something in todays' world. Went in to get suits for my groomsmen and I for my wedding and this place is quick to take your money and useless after that. The fitting process was quick and painless. Filled out the group information, got the style we wanted, and wanted to look around a bit before making a decision. Went back a second time and nothing was saved and had to re fill out everything which made it harder given I have relatives out of town that I had to coordinate to get fitted again.
I have other groomsmen that had to get there suits at other locations and nothing was communicated and none of the other locations could understand what we were doing. I was told everything would be in the system and other locations can look it up and be able to order exactly what we need...don't fall for it.
I went to pick the suit up and I knew I'd have to have alterations done to it which is fine. But whoever did the measurements didn't do a good job because I got the pants back and were hardly any different. Not to mention they don't call whenever anything is ready. Make sure to try everything on before you leave the place. Went back to get measured again and altered which was fine. There was a younger female in the back that did the measurements who seemed like she actually knew what she was doing.
My Fiance had to go pick it up the last time and she called to double check that it was done and see if it was alright she picked it up, and all they said, "Did you get a call? If not, it's not done, if you did it would be done." If I said that to my customers I likely wouldn't have a job. This was Charles who said this who I believe helped me before and may be the manager there. That does make sense since your employees are just following your lead.
If I could leave no stars I would, but the 1 star might have been saved by the second tailor...
Read moreI chose this location vs. the other Jos A Bank location because of the reviews. I really wanted to like this place, but the Store Manager made it difficult. I arrived on time for my appointment and apparently the employee who deals with weddings (who I imagine my appointment should've been with) was busy with someone else the entire time I was there (close to an hour?) so the Store Manager had to help us out. And that didn't happen until like 10-15 mins after we got there. Apparently they want you to know exactly what you want before going to shop there and because I only had a few ideas of what could work for the wedding, the response was critical with a side of condescension. I don't wear suits often nor have I ever gotten married before so I don't imagine someone in my position would know much about either??? I also didn't want my fiancée there just like she wouldn't have wanted me around when she was shopping for a dress. I thought I could use the few ideas I had to try on some stuff and lean on the supposed expertise of the person I had an appointment with, but I guess I'm just assuming too much there. It also would've been nice to have been asked a price range so we could work from there. I was shown a suit I liked, but it was probably more than I would've wanted to pay for a suit. But hey, I would've considered it if the service was better. My groomsmen were also there for suit rentals, but the store didn't have much to choose from when it came to rentals. Two stars instead of one because aside from my complaints, we had a decent time joking around and the idea of only one or five star...
