Einstein Bros. Bagels — Restaurant in Virginia

I’ve ordered Einstein bagels a few times for delivery and every time they’ve been amazing! However, recently i was craving a bagel!! I have become much more cognizant as to what I put in my body these days and googled who has the least ingredient, healthiest bagel near me…Einstein came up with their multi gram bagel!! Since it is literally around the corner from me I hopped in the car and headed out!!

When I went in the store, I was instantly greeted by the sweetest person! I wandered over to the counter, checked out the selection and due to my craving, I couldn’t just get one…so. Of course I got the multi grain, but also got a sesame, everything, green chile, jalapeños and cinnamon one!! All sliced and toasted straight away!! Over the next several days I munched on them and was pleasantly surprised how long they lasted w out completely being stale! Of course they weren’t perfectly fresh but after a second toasting, they were fine!!

Today, I went back. After 4 hours sleep, thanks to my whiny toddler cat, I wanted a treat. I’m grumpy and deserved it! lol!! The same person greeted me!! An ABSOLUTE DELIGHTFUL engagement! They made me smile and chuckle even amidst my crankiness!! I mean who wouldn’t want to visit here daily when you have the most precious human greeting you and making sure you smile!!!

This location is in serious need of some kind of help. Not sure what to say. Better management? Better training?

No seating inside. That's a shame. Very few people inside, but when I placed my order, it took about 20 minutes before getting it. And ultimately, it was wrong. When I ordered, there were clearly a couple of bagels of the kind that I wanted in the case. When I checked in with them about 20 minutes later, they said they had no more left. And that it would take 20 more minutes to cook them!

So I chose something else so that I could just leave as soon as possible.

I asked for well done toasting, but it did not come out that way.

The staff were friendly and polite enough, but the whole operation just seems inept.

"Be prepared to be disappointed at this location", is what I'm thinking now, based on today's experience.

Worst Einstein bros I have ever been to. And I've foolishly come here like 10 times thinking it'll be better this time (and because I live so close by and normally love Einstein's) but every time it takes them an hour to make a bagel and it is on some crusty bagel. Why do I keep doing this to myself?

Edit: I want to update my review in response to the reply from Einstein bros. I had actually already filed a complaint on their site before writing this review. I have received no response as of two weeks later

Edit 2: so I never did hear anything from corporate but I do want to say now, (several months later?) I did finally go again because I just wanted my bagel and had a better experience. I've been back a couple times since and it does seem to...
