So let me start with what they got right, because we should always celebrate a win, right? *Prompt. I called same day and was seen same day. *Nails look great. The finished product is well done and has held up very nicely. *Very clean salon. A lot of times, cleanliness is overlooked.
And now for... the discouraging stuff. These are things; that as a new client have made it hard for me to really want to come back. I recently moved to AZ and I've been working to re-establish my life after a bad divorce, so why wouldn't a woman want to spoil herself a little bit? *I had to repeat what I wanted several times, and despite showing pictures for what I was trying to achieve, I was met with hesitation and a push in another direction entirely. I wasn't asking for anything extreme, just wanted a more feminine look. I asked for tips to lengthen my boyish looking nails. I wanted something for an upcoming event and was repetitively told to just to a gel manicure instead. (Let me repeat, I wasn't looking for anything that was even similar to Cardi B. My nails are still fairly short and functional.) *After protesting and being firm about what it was I wanted done (Not being rude at all mind you), the artist seemed entirely disinterested in anything else going forward. She seemed frustrated with my presence. Trying to talk to her, I was met with one word answers and glances. Like I was wasting HER time. And I tried to be lighthearted and joke with her, and talk with her. I don't find that I was being rude in wanting to have done what I wanted. *I wanted to also have a pedicure done that same day and I was promptly told to just call back or come the next day. But...that's when my event was.
So all in all, I got fantastic nails done, and I love the way they came out. I just felt highly uncomfortable and a bit displaced by the end of the experience and more like a nuisance than anything else. It was clear that she was ready to move onto her next client when she was done, and didn't even take the time to address me at all when they were setting to dry.
So I'm sorry if I upset the artist when I expressed what it was that I was looking for, but as a client I believe that I have that right. Especially if it's nothing extreme... or troubling. Single color, acrylic dip with small tips to make me feel more feminine after chewing my nails off due to anxiety from a horrible separation. I unfortunately will not be...

I had really hoped to make this my go-to nail salon, since I've gone to two others close by and wasn't too impressed with them. It got to the point that I would only get my nails done whenever I visited my boyfriend in Florida, because I couldn't find a quality nail salon here.
However, I found this place because I live nearby and didn't know about it before. I had called to ask if they had an opening, and they were quick to accommodate. I was really excited. When I got there, I was quickly seated and taken care of by Cody.
I opted for the Collagen Pedicure for some extra pampering. At first I chose a basic nail polish. Cody asked if I wanted anything extra with it (like glitter) and I agreed with the idea. But then I realized I've always wanted to do a cat eye gel polish and they had it, so I ended up choosing that.
Cody pointed out that ONE of my small toe nails had a little bit of leftover gel polish on it still. I joked that it was still hanging on and thought nothing more of it. I really enjoyed his friendliness and the quality of his work - my toes look so cute!
Once it was time to pay, I saw a $15 charge for "acrylic take off." Mind you, that was for that ONE small toe nail with 5-month-old gel polish on it. He obviously knew that probably seemed too much, because he turned around quickly talking to his wife in Vietnamese. Well, the charge stayed.
I kept my mouth shut and gave a friendly farewell, feeling disappointed about being taken advantage of. If they need that money that badly, they can have it. Because that's the last time they'll be seeing...
Read moreWhat a find! I booked a Mani-Pedi with Tina and it was an all around delightful experience with a true nail pro. On the personal side, Tina is so very welcoming and accommodating. We chatted like old friends and her kindness and graciousness went a long way in ensuring a very relaxing and fun experience. Professionally, she is top notch. I can honestly say I have never had a more thorough and detailed Mani-Pedi. She goes out of her way and takes the time she needs to achieve perfection and lasting results. Yes, I am gushing - I was THAT impressed. Won't go elsewhere....
