I don't write a ton of reviews. But Three Canyon Beer & Wine Garden has been my go-to for years. And I had to share my accolades. As well as critique some of the "few" reviews that "Karens" have written. :)
The immediate sell is the patio....even though I often just sit at the bar. The best patio in the area adjacent to Sabino Canyon (about a mile down the way). So often I find myself here when done with some running or hiking out there.
Owner (Steve) and his staff have always made it feel like home here. And have always gone out of their way to ensure that I find that brew that I'm looking for with the knowledge that you'd expect from a place that deals with so many beers that circulate on the menu.
Food has always been stellar and continues to evolve. My go-to has been the quesadillas with and addition of pork. But you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
I'm also writing this review as I observe the "usual" reviews from those that just don't understand the format of this establishment. And those that in general love to complain about everything in their lives... Nor do they understand what I call "common sense" practices.
Here is one for example....why would you park at another business parking lot and not have the expectations that you could be towed? Don't know if this is in the reviews. But I have noticed that the owners have had to place signs EVERYWHERE to remind people of this common sense practice. Come on people. :)
The other is that every dining establishment out there has a format. A way that they do things. Some have drive thrus. Some have service where you order at a counter and then sit. There are so many formats out there. You get to decide what format works for you. Too many to mention. I can't speak about Three Canyon at all hours and how that format may vary. But you order at the bar. Then you find your preferred seating. Although they accommodate when able...this is how they do things here. If you don't like it, then don't write a review about this complaining. It's the format. Although flexible at times.
One of my favorite reviews was someone complaining about prices of iced teas. Saying "you don't have prices listed in the coolers so I don't know"....do you not have the ability to ask what the prices are? And if you have an issue with prices, maybe you should ask. Or maybe dine somewhere else that fits your budget. I'll throw in the disclaimer that I am middleclass. And I highly doubt your ice teas were $10 each. Sounds like Karen to me. Some people love to complain.
Another recent review discussed treatment of employees. I can say with confidence that the staff their is happy. Almost all of them have been there since they opened years ago. Once again...another one of those reviews.
I could go on and on. Although overall most people are happy with Three Canyon, you're always going to have some people that just look for something to complain about. And it's not many as you can see from their ratings. Just filter through them. Or enjoy the bad ones for your...
Read moreIf you have children do not go here. It’s touted as family friendly but it most certainly is not. We have been two times. Both times, before entering, the owner felt compelled to tell us about all of the times he’s had to ask families to leave becuase of their children’s behavior. The first time we chalked up his attitude to having a new business and being stressed. The second time we were really put off by his unfriendliness and the negative things he had to say about the community, this part of town, and kids so we decided not to even go in. We waited for our pizza that we ordered from the food truck and took it home. We have spoken with quite a few other families who had the same experience as we did.
The business does not have a soda fountain and does not offer iced tea, juice or any other refillable non-alcoholic beverages. Individual drinks can be found in a fridge in cans and bottles in a small room on the way out to the beer garden. The first time we went, it was warm out and I was the designated driver. It was inconvenient to have to go inside and get a drink from the refrigerator every 20 minutes and then line up the empty containers on the table so the guy who was helping us could add them to our tab. The business also does not have a kitchen so on some nights dinner can be purchased from food trucks and eaten in the business.
The beer garden is nice but the business on the whole was put together on the cheap. I would rather support local businesses that are welcoming and are supportive of...
Read moreThe place is in a great location. The server, Elliott was amazing, the beer was good. Unfortunately, the owner needs a lesson in how to talk to people. My friend and I brought our kids because we heard from others that this was a family friendly place. When we arrived we were the only people there besides a sweet older couple who said they enjoyed watching our children play out on the patio. When they left we allowed our two boys to play hide and seek outside because there were no other patrons to bother. The owner immediately became angry and yelled at our boys for trampling on a plant that was outside. He then told us if we couldn't keep our kids in line we would be asked to leave because they could knock someone over. Let me reiterate we were the ONLY patrons there. Our kids started playing in the dirt and we noticed the owner staring at us out the back window. He came back out and again told us if we couldn't keep our kids in line we would be asked to leave. I do not allow my son to misbehave in public. These kids were playing in the dirt. My friend decided to pay the tab so we could leave. When she walked inside the owner began yelling at her and telling her she was an awful mother and we needed to leave. I don't believe we did anything wrong, however if we did yelling at my friend and telling her she is an awful mother is not the way to handle things. We were...
