Desert Palms Apartments — Local services in Tucson

This place is ridiculous. They had stains everywhere when we moved in, never answer their phone when you try calling during business hours, and they avoid maintenance work no matter how many times you called. We have tried calling constantly about the bug problem there; there's nothing but cockroaches in the apartment we had, and the apartment next to use got bed bugs. We tried telling them about the infestation, but they wouldn't listen, so we told them we were moving out. Now they're trying to charge us almost $2000 that was sent into collections because they're trying to say we never told them despite the fact that we gave them a letter stating when we were moving out and why, and now it's a big mess. DO NOT MOVE HERE EVER. IT'S NOT WORTH IT. Our laundry was stolen out of the dryers and they did nothing about it, there are homeless people and drug addicts shooting up in the laundry room, the maintenance people don't care if something is busted, and they tried putting a fee saying that there was smoke damage to the AC when we have literally never smoked in the apartment. One of the worst places in Tucson. Definitely the worst place I've ever stayed. Management is careless about any and all situations going on in their complex. Bug infested apartments that are poorly worked on. Spaces between the base boards and walls, missing grout in the bathroom tile, and filthy apartments. Clearly a maintenance crew who has no idea what they are doing and a manager who is okay with having these workers in their building. They don't clean or paint any apartments before move in but take the extra time and say they are going to. The laundry room is infested with bed bugs in each machine and management acts as if they have no idea there is an infestation. Homeless wander the property day and night breaking into mailboxes and cars while the manager still hasn't done anything to fix the problem. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY RENTING IN THIS ROACH/BED BUG MOTEL. YOU WILL REGRET IT THE DAY YOU MOVE IN, I KNOW I DID. Frieda Vance is careless and unprofessional. Property is run by a manager who is never here. She hired a leasing manager “part time” who is also NEVER here! When you have to make a complaint about disruptive, violent neighbors… management tells you there’s nothing they can do so you’ll have to call the cops. When you do and are physically assaulted by those said people, TPD tells you there’s nothing they can do even though they were shown evidence. The “part time” leasing manager only advocates to a certain extent when she’s only in it for the cute officers she has to speak with. They allow drugs in the complex, drinking and driving in the complex, verbal and physically assaults on the premises and do not hold those guilty in the wrong.
