This place is amazing! Over 800 species of native AZ plants! Seriously awesome plant geeks like Jack working there can tell you not only the current scientific name, but the old name and its ecological importance! I got three prickly pears and an agave that you can get no where else for $40! They propagate all of thier own material. Super helpful in getting them packed for the plane. It is a non-profit helping disabled in and through horticultural therapy. If you are a plant geek from out of town, dont waste your time, skip the other nurseries and come here first!

Swung by here one morning to get some desert plants to ship back home where I live. I like collecting plants from many places and this location had a GREAT selection of Cacti and succulents to choose from. The staff was very friendly and helpful with me getting the best ones that would survive 1) shipping back to NY and 2) surviving cooler temperatures. Highly recommend! Could’ve spent much more time here exploring!

I admire what Desert Survivors does as a nursery and non-profit, helping people. I've only lived here a few years, I moved here right before covid arrived. I actually found this business on the Arizona Gives list in 2019. Today they didn't have anything I was looking for but I did photograph some labels for their information. I haven't been to one of their sales yet, that will be a future adventure for me.

Desert Survivors in Tucson is a hidden gem for plant enthusiasts and conservationists alike. Their selection of native plants is unparalleled, offering a wide variety of species that thrive in the unique desert climate. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their work, always ready to provide expert advice on plant care and landscaping. The nursery itself is beautifully maintained, showcasing the potential of desert flora in stunning displays. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, Desert Survivors is the perfect place to find inspiration and support for your gardening projects.

One of the most commendable aspects of Desert Survivors is their dedication to social responsibility. This commitment to empowering individuals and promoting diversity makes shopping here a truly rewarding experience for both you and the environment. Highly...

We have a garden project less than a mile away. I went in and I went into the wrong area. After one person working there said I could. He comes up no hello just being a jerk. I asked where should I be more of him asserting his authority. Everything is dead here. It's almost May so they can't say they are dormant. They have tons of management and not enough people to do the work. Disappointed I thought it would be a different experience. I expect that out of the big nurseries her in town. Not here. As I said 80% of what I saw was dead or not worth the insane prices. A stick with no leaves could cost you 20 bucks. You can see from the parking lot the quality of their products. Sad to say I will have to travel farther in town to places like Harlow's, MVG, green things, and civanos from those parking lots you can see quality of product and...

I don't understand how this place has a 4.6.. for 1 they don't let the guys sit in the shade when it's hot, the workers deserve breaks and shade!!! #2 the manager Hannah doesn't allow them to use ice in their waters even though they have an ice machine. She's rude,un-proffesional and only cares about her paycheck, meanwhile they all sit in their nice cold office with sweaters on. #3 management in general is absolutely horrid. They don't give a damn about mentors or the actual workers. 20 people ( at least) have quit under new management. This place is trash and a joke. The only good person outside of general workers is Michelle and I truly think she's letting her life pass her by for a place that doesnt care about there people. I think whoever hired management needs to take a closer look at who their hiring. Of course this is all...
