I went to this shop in hopes of getting my V30 fixed. I had completely smashed the glass on the front and back of the phone. I was quoted a price for everything I needed to repair the phone and was asked to pay up front and was told the parts would be there in 3 days. So I agreed and paid the $240. The parts came in 8 days later and was given the reason that they usually never have this problem with Fed-X and the parts were re-routed blah blah blah... Anyways I dropped the phone off to be repaired and returned an hour later to pick it up. When I arrived to pick the phone up, the phone looked great but there was one problem. Just so happens someone stole all his charging cables the night before and he wasn't able to turn the phone on to actually make sure it worked. I picked the phone up without question anyways and went home to charge it. It took me 30 minutes to turn the phone on because the power button only works on occasions. When it finally turned on I tried to make a call and my phone went black and I couldn't hear anything. Turns out a sensor and my speaker do not work either. Also the sim card port that was put back in my phone was the one from my broken phone and was all bent and sticking half way out. I was able to push it in all the way and now it is stuck in the phone and I cannot get it back out. After all this I decided to call back and let them know the issues I was having. They said they would order the parts immediately and they would be there in no more than 3 days. I was never given a call back to let me know the parts have arrived. So today 7/16/18 my screen on my phone completely gave out and won't come back on. I had enough and called and just so happens my parts will be there today. I asked him if he even tested the phone in the first place to see if it worked. He lied and said he did because when I picked it up the phone was dead. He disagreed with me and said he was sure everything worked when he fixed it. So I asked if he tried to make a call because the speaker doesn't work. He then said he didn't because he didn't know my password but my phone doesn't and never has had a password. Then he said if I gave the phone back he would give a full refund but the thing is, I didn't buy a phone from him. I paid him to repair MY phone that I still am paying on at Verizon....
Anyways he agreed to fix the phone for free and if I'm not happy he will give a full refund without trying to steal MY phone from me. I have an appointment set up with him this Thursday at 11. If anything changes, I will update this review.
P.S. I wrote this review on my...
Read moreIm posting a review for my 60 year old mom. She needed a screen and after having the screen replaced, the phone started to randomly have issues with the screen permanently cutting out when a call was made.
Normally, the phone shuts the screen off when the camera senses an object (like your head) in front of it to keep you from mashing buttons with your cheek or ear, but when pulled away the screen comes back on, so you can end the call or do speaker phone. Her phone shuts off the screen as soon as the call starts, and wont turn back on until the person on the other end closes the call. Until then, the phone might as well be locked.
She asked me if i could figure it out, and upon inspection, i noticed that the case wasnt closed all the way. I took off the battery cover to discover that there was a small black wire that had been smashed in between the front and back halves of the case, and there were two scews missing from it as well. I asked her what she had done to her phone lately and she said she had took it to J and S to get the screen replaced. There is nobody else that has taken her phone apart, so this has to be their handy work.
Im gonna use common sense and guess that the wire has a small break in it, and causes the phone to think that there is something right in front of the camera all the time, which is causing this issue.
Ive got pictures of this, but i dont see a way to include them so.. ¯(ツ)/¯
Horrible work. I wouldnt risk taking my phone here to get...
Read moreI was told and then convinced that my iPhone6 S Plus was broken beyond repair by a "Retail Phone Store", so naturally I was forced to purchase the NEW iPhone 10 or 11...who knows...I can't keep track anymore!? Months later I decided to just TRY a local repair shop and ask some questions to see if those convincing remarks were true... They were false, not only did J and S Computers answer my questions immediately, but within 20 minutes my now OLD phone was like brand-new AND operating jussst fine! I was blown away by not only their knowledge but also the incredibly fast time it took to repair/replace! They even had my old phone somewhat charged to test their work! This place has earned my business from here on out with ANY phone/computer/tablet/device/etc. questions or issues from now on!! Don't second guess it, just go see these guys (and gal) next time...
