I really liked this place and want to continue to like it as I have purchased both my mowers here in the past. There is just one issue. I have my one mower in for service as I write this review. My little X310 was picked up on 4/14/25 for service. The service was to diagnose an electrical starting issue and then basic maintenance including a transmission service. Before it was even picked up I was told 3 to 4 weeks out by the head of the service dept. The guys name is Mike. 3-4 weeks out was no big deal for me as it is their busy season after all. About two week’s later I called to check on the machine and see if they had gotten a quote together for me. The head of the service department, Mike informed me they hadn’t touched the machine yet and reminded me they were 3-4 weeks out. I asked “3-4 weeks out from now or when it was picked up?” To which he replied “when it was picked up.” Cool whatever. Well the third week 4/27-5/3 arrived with no call or sign of progress, the fourth week 5/4-5/10 then arrived with the same results. As I write this review on 5/14/25 the mower is still there awaiting work. This is now the fifth week that they have had the mower with five full weeks approaching quick. Then it will be the sixth week. To put it into perspective, It has now been a month with no progress or communication of delay. I really liked this place in the past as I’ve bought both my mowers there. Parts dept. is great. The service dept. in the past has been great until this experience. I don’t want it to leave a bad taste in my mouth. I’ll update after I see how the next week goes. If they make an effort and stay true to their word, I’ll up my review to 5 stars because this family owned store really deserves it. If they continue the same shenanigans, I’ll be forced to downgrade my review to two stars as not honoring your own time frame with no customer service or communication is extremely unprofessional.

Read moreI took my John Deere X748 to Bartrons for their $269 service special. It has 400 hours on the machine. They said they typically have the machine serviced and back to you in 10 days. I got a call two weeks later telling me they want $1,350 dollars in repairs. This happened to me the last machine I took in as well. After much negotiation and since they had no breakdown of the costs we settled on $810. That was for a basic service, transmission fluid change, new blades and the adjustment knob for the mower deck fixed (Oh and a nut in the drive shaft fell out and needed replaced). My invoice is unreadable with a bunch of miscellaneous fees like shop fees and supplies. I would think at $85 an hour those types of things would be covered. Just posting so others know what to expect when servicing their tractors there. Just do yourself a favor and goto a local reputable lawn mower repair shop that services more than one brand. I have been going to Bartrons since 1985 and they were a different business back then. This type of gouging never happened back then.

I bought a Husqvarna tracked snowblower from Bartrons at the end of 2017. Did not get to use it until winter of 2018. When I went to use it in 2018 all transmission oil leaked out. It took Bartrons service department 2 months to repair it. When I got it back, the drive tracks were not working. I took it back and they had it another 2 months to repair a problem they caused. Well I got it back and than the steering clutches were not working, could not steer it. A problem they caused again. This last time they took it back on March 11 th. 2019. Bartrons is giving it back to me September 8th 2019. They claim they fixed it this time. I dought it very much. So I had this new snowblower from December 2017 and did not get to use it to blow any snow . Its almost 2 years old. All from Bartrons screw ups.
