DONT BOTHER.you are now on a timer.you got less than 1hr to scroll through stuff.Waste of time.last call in orange got better stuff..Fyi they will block people on insta instantly for SPEAKING THE TRUTH because it didnt live up to the hype ,not as advertised."alternative retail pr"could learn a thing or two.if you advertise premium designer thats what people expect to see, come & shop for 🤷♀️.If its not praised boom they block ... talk about honest reviews and transparency😒😬.you wont see anything negative because they dirty delete & block.Very unprofessional .They dont like constructive criticism. No worries i have no problem taking my money elsewhere ☺️🙌. .people usually leave review so a business can improve ,so their clients can later on change their rating and view for a higher one, thats business 101, clearly they couldnt care less. The lady checking the ticket was in a super bad mood very unplesant and unwelcoming.thumbs up to the security guys that were the most polite and smiling .They advertise the event as premium luxury but by noon everything is PICKED CLEAN ( in the women section). Saw a few mcqueen ysl armani in the men section but in very limited sizes and amout . Its all sub brand thinks saks off , off rack type of stuff .higher than macys lower than neiman marcus . Its 80 off SUGGESTED retail price. No not everything is 80 off the bag were 65 off ( not mention in the ad very misleading), no you arent going through 60 000 items( also misleading ) they only put a small quantity on the floor the rest is in boxes behind curtains on the other side.they emphesize on "LUXURY" sorry but puma steve madden and yoox are far from " luxury".chloe was SEE BY CHLOE a sub cheapper lower quality brand of chloe , valentino was RED BY VALENTINO an other sub cheapper lower quality one. Dont be fooled by their EXTREMELY MISLEADING/ FALSE AD.its a carrot to get u at the door. The vast majority of the stuff out on the floor isnt " luxury" . Lot of clothes were DAMAGED and RIPPED . Make sure you inspect every piece of clothes prior purchasing up close . They usually start on thursday(and have the motherload of boxes in the back that they unpack either late at night after closing or early in the morning each day). The event is free to attend as long as you have ticket ( and those sell out fast) . Lot of people were walking out empty handed or with very few items . In the afternoon they had yoox steve madden type of shoes stuff u find at dsw/ aldo type of stuff . Not ultra luxury . Maybe for the few lucky one in the morning they are able to buy all the ultra premium ( as there is no limit on how many or how much u can buy per person ) . By the time i went no luxury purses belt or undies . I was expecting more as they make it sounds and seens like its all chloe prada balenciaga ysl miu miu jimmy chou and its NOT.Thats FALSE ADVERTISING. The designers names are nothing more than " carrots" to get u at the door , they have a few yes but thats not what 80 percent of their stock felt like... . They have a few to get people at the door but once sold out most is SUB BRAND NOT PREMIUM LUXURY. Unless you can be there on a thursday early morning best of luck finding anything " ultra luxury" . Drove all the way down to tustin for this event wont bother again . I rather shop at saks or neiman when they go on sale . The racks are hard to look through cuz they are PACKED. Its a huge mess . Irs not classified by designer but by size ( and by the afternoon all the sizes r mixed) there is only a few mirror 3 at the entrance one near the shoe / clothes section people fight for those . Not the most pleasant experience . Also note that if you use debit or credit you need your ID matching the card ( which is good and safe) .i talk to people while at the event. A lot of people said the same thing at the event " slim pick" or " was better last time" . HARD PASS for me from now on. This place is run poorly customer service is near inexistant . There are so many better sales / events in LA with better staff...
Read moreI found out about Alternative Retail the morning of the first day of their designer pop-up, and let’s just say, we are locked in for life! I was able to get a ticket for that afternoon but decided to go early to see if I can get in sooner. I stood in the standby line for 10am and was let in little over 20 minutes after they opened. I walked in and my mouth dropped! There was sooooo much inventory from all the major designer brands, and then some. This was not stuff made for outlets or damaged. This was the real deal. The shoes and coats were a major standout - pieces that originally costs thousands (and thousands) for a couple hundred.
I’m not a person who shops trends or cares about seasons. I buy what I like when I like. I got a few pair a shoes and an amazing MSGM jacket. Went back when everything went down to 90% and got stuff that was even better than my first trip (hello, Rock Owens thigh highs!).
I saw comments online saying what was left over when the discount went down to 90% wasn’t good. To anyone who thought that, you’re just basic. The selection wasn’t picked over - still so much amazing stuff. I think I’m going again today for a...
Read moreAlternative Retail used to be more low-key a couple years ago but I think they went more viral on the socials so it's typically packed. I follow them on IG and subscribe to their email updates for the latest. Email is easiest because you can sign up for free tickets for the rotating pop-up's.
My faves are Vuori and Brixton. Vuori gets SOLD OUT QUICK because it's the hottest ticket item. When it comes to these warehouse sales in general just make sure to INSPECT INSPECT INSPECT. Sometimes the items may be faulty, for example have marks or be missing a button or the wrong size and label. For payment they take cards except AMEX. My best advice is to go on the first weekday and first thing in the morning! They do replenish but the most coveted items get sold out QUICK.
AR is also great for those summer items if you're not looking to spend a lot and you still want "name brands." For example, swim suits for men and women, SoCal...
