I called early in the morning to check on the mariachi shows because it was my birthday. And thats why i wanted to go there. And since its a 45 min drive i didnt want to risk it. Spoke to receptionist who told me shows would be at 5 and 7:30. I asked her if i needed reservations to the show and she said no, it will be a slow day because of the superbowl, just be here by 7. I got there at 7 and the mariachi was already playing. I told the lady up front that i was there for the 7:30 show. She told me it had been cancelled. And that they were playing thier last song. I explained to her that i had called because it was my birthday i showed her the call on my phone my id to prove it was my birthday and all and she was very cold. All she would say was this is thier last song. She also told me that if i had made a reservation they would have called me to which i replied that i was told i didnt have to make reservations ! I asked for a manager and explained to him that i always celebrate my birthday there and i had come from far and everything. He said there was nothing they could do. I told him of course there is, have the mariachi play longer. This isnt my fault. He said absolutely not. He went outside to make a call and came back in to offer my plate free. My kids were so hungry and i was so upset and since we are not familiar with the area we stayed. Im upset because i was LIED TO. we had a big party and spent clse to $200 there. The manager could have EASILY had the mariachi AT LEAST play las mananitas for me! He could have added 3 more songs so we could get some kind of show!!! This is bull! I am very upset with how this was handled. My birthday dinner was completely ruined. This is the place we spend all our birthdays because my kids are mariachis and they love the show. I would like to speak to upper management and see if this is ok with them. Like i said at least las mananitas!!! How cruel! Everytime i see Jose and his wife there they seem so nice and attentive, i honestly dont think they would be ok with what happened yesturday....
Read moreOur visit was on 09/19. We had a reservation at 5pm for 6 people to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We received a call letting us know they had to push us to 6pm due to overbooking us with a party of 150 people. We arrived on time and waited an hour to be seated. Upon ordering our food we were informed they had run out of albondigas, carnitas & birria. Some of which we had tried to order. We opted for shredded beef tacos and beef taquitos (among other things). Everything went wrong with our order. Our daughter ordered the chicken tenders and fries. The fries were sweet potato fries that none of us like. Our daughter never got her ketchup/ranch. Our guacamole (we ordered to have with chips) came out at the same time as our meals. Four meals came out but not the other two. Our waitress seemed inexperienced as she had not even noticed we were missing 2 meals. We ended up calling over the owner to check on the other 2 dishes. He said he'd check on it and never came back to our table. Our waitress finally came back & informed us they were out of beef taquitos. The order was changed to cheese enchiladas. By the time the rest of the food came out, everything else we had was cold. The waitress told us the kitchen was a mess and they were losing tickets. The tacos were not shredded beef like they advertised on the menu. They were ground beef in store bought taco shells that were disgusting. When we asked our waitress about the meat she said that it was the chef's interpretation of shredded beef. SMH Our waitress was clearly overwhelmed, she did not know how to handle our table and problems and she was not attentive to our table's needs. My mother sadly filled up on chips because she waited so long for her meal. This was the worst service and experience we have encountered. We will not be in a hurry to come back & WILL NOT recommend to...
Read moreDate night on a Tuesday. Our server was fabulous, prompt, and attentive. And FRIENDLY! Mariachi band was making their rounds so we enjoyed the music without them being in our face. Appreciated that.
Chips and salsa were refilled without asking, salsa is a red salsa with a nice kick to it.
Hubs ordered the chicken fajitas that came with corn tortillas (not sure if they have flour as both meals came with corn which was fine with me), and had the usual sides of rice, beans, pico, guac etc. the chicken was well cooked but there was a ton of oil on the skillet and coating the peppers. This caused some stomach upset that night which was u pleasant.
I opted for the Camarones Diablo ($31) and the Diablo sauce was fantastic. Served with rice and beans and grilled (heavy on the butter/oil) veggies this was a lot of food. Also came with corn tortillas. I wasn’t able to finish the meal so had it boxed up and the server even brought out a small sauce container for the hot sauce I had requested on the side. He bagged it up for me and was prompt with our bill processing. We were too full for dessert but they had a few options available if you’re interested in a sweet ending to the meal.
Unfortunately for both of us, upon returning home our stomachs were unsettled and I believe there may have been an issue with food prep as we experienced ill effects of our meal. While the service was great (5 star) and everything tasted fantastic (5 star) this was definitely not the way we wanted to end the day with an overall rating of 2-stars.
Parking is plentiful, you may have to cross the street but you can always find a spot. Access is ADA accessible and the ambiance is wonderful. Not sure if we will be back after...
