The Humidor — Local services in Tyler

I am a (well) seasoned cigar smoker. I was in Tyler today so I stopped in today to shop for some of my favorites. The shop was nice, and had a small lounge area that was free to use, and I usually don't stay and smoke, I prefer to do so on my porch at home. The employee was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. The humidor was nice and large and was kept at the perfect 70 percent RH. I was surprised and disappointed in the rather small selection of brands combined with the abundant empty space on the shelves of the humidor. They didn't have any of my favorite smokes. I like Oliva Serie V (not the Melanio), La Aroma de Cuba, La Flor Dominicana, and other high-end name- brand mainstream cigars. They had a lot of brands I had never heard of. The good cigars they did have were quite expensive compared to what I'm used to paying. Despite the prices I didn't want to leave empty handed so I wound up purchasing an Oliva Connecticut, and one of the off-brands (they call the "boutique") called Cuban Stock. I loved my experience there. I went to get a Father's day gift and the guy that was working that day was very friendly and helpful. They have a lounge with comfy chairs for whomever to sit and relax and smoke their cigars while getting to enjoy the flat screens or other company. Friendly, laid back atmosphere and dim lighting. They have a glass enclosed room where the cigars are kept. The guy even offered me a free cigar box of my choice from the selection they had....

Great shops with wonderful selection and decor. Easy to shop or hang and smoke with the locals. The one knock is there is a limited supply of accessories.

When I visited, I was looking for a couple of items including a new collar lighter and a travel humidor.
