Unorganized, and expensive for sub par service. The good: Most meats were cooked wonderfully and were packed with flavor. The atmosphere and decoration was perfect for a elegant night out. Best in Tyler I would say for the design. Woods of advise: make a reservation. The constructive criticism: Waited over half an hour to be seated in Tyler, we are in tyler. When seated many open tables were all over the place. After being seated, explanation of how it works was limited at best, luckily I have had the pleasure to eat at many Brazilian style restaurants, so green for go red for stop and a buffet. I had food and was half way into eating our meal before any water or ordered drinks arrived... the fried bananas did not show up till end of meal but were promised at the beginning for a pallet cleanser, when they did come they were soggy, not crispy my daughter who always loves these would not even eat them. Green was not for go it was for wait, meat sparely made it around to our table against the wall. We saw many go out from the kitchen but we were not on the food runners rout, this needs to be fixed. I had to ask for food to be brought to the table once a wait finally showed up to give us some water for our meal. Be prepared to say no to a good runner, it's going to be like turning down pushy salesman. At one point I was asked if I was Hebrew because I did not won't the pork tenderloin. I had to explain no, that if I am going to pay almost 50 dollars to eat I want streak not chicken, not a different form of pork chop. The salad bar or what ever you can call it is the smallest selection I have ever seen at a Brazilian restaurant. Here is what a 50 dollar meal gets in Tyler. Potato's, rice, gravy, California roll (cheap kind) some tomatoes and olives, big block of parmigiana cheese to put on what not sure as the rest left at the bar is cabbage croutons and ranch. Some cold shrimp or fish might be there if it is not an empty bowl. The biggest let down was the pineapple, usually this is warm and comes by with the meat, here it is cold and soggy at the so cold salad bar. I would have to give the salad bar a different name, like limited side items bar. All in all my service was not par with an almost 50 dollar per head plate after tax not including tip. The side bar was not par with an almost 50 dollar per head plate. The meat when you do get it was par with at best a 40 plate, and the ambiance was about a 40 per plate. Most Brazilian restaurants I have been to were 35 to 42 like this one but 10 times the options and way better service and you had to say stop for the meats at the others as they would fill up a plate in no time flat. Hope it does well in Tyler, hope they can make better food runner routs and get better at the service, if they can this would be a great place to drop a 110 for a couples date night in Tyler if you leave a 15% tip and don't get any drinks.

Okay so this place literally blew my mind away. I've been to locations in other states but this is the first one I've ever been to here in Texas. One big difference is the customers, here in Texas. People just come in dressed in t-shirts and jeans. I guess that's okay. That's not the Texas de Brazil that I'm used to. It's a fine dining establishment as far as I'm concerned with the linen napkins and the wine glasses to serve your drinks in. But regardless of that, let's go on to the food. Read a few reviews before going to the restaurant just to get myself familiar with what they offer. I read quite a few reviews that said they didn't get quite as much meat as they wanted. That was not the case for us. The guys kept coming around the tables constantly offering us more meats. We had so much meat that are plates where piled high within 15 minutes of sitting down. No complaints though because everything was absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly, and if there was a choice of meat that we wanted all we had to do was ask and it was immediately delivered to our table. My favorite would have had to have been the filet mignon cooked perfectly medium. Fork tender melt in your mouth deliciousness. They also serve side of mashed potatoes that were oh my goodness so creamy and delicious. The hot and cold salad bar area had so many offerings. From your standard iceberg lettuce to your mix greens everything was there that you could possibly want. They had ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, a Brazilian dressing and a Caesar dressing to add to your salad if you choose so. They also had prosciutto and salami. As far as the cheeses went they had goat cheese, parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, and a few different other types. I can't remember the names but they were all delicious. They had olives and artichokes and cucumbers and tomatoes and onions. They also have the most amazing real cooked bacon. Now on to the hot food they had cheesy potatoes that were to die for. They had their famous lobster bisque and Brazilian beans. Oh yeah, they also had some chilled shrimp for you to enjoy if you choose to. They also had roasted garlic, different olive oils, olives and everything else you would need to make your own little mini charcuterie board. Onto the staff our waitress was very soft spoken but did her job and was very sweet. The gaucho's bringing the meat around we're very friendly and very accommodating. The best part was the manager Bo. He was absolutely amazing and made sure that our meal time was very enjoyable. Price wise it was about $70 per person with the drinks. Honestly that to me is a fair price for all. You can eat food that was just mind-blowingly amazing.

This is by far the best experience you can have at a restaurant that is all you can eat! The food was Top Shelf! The service was exceptional. And the atmosphere was also extremely inviting. If you were looking for the best tasting filet mignon, flank steak, basically everything that is on their menu of meats, this is the place for you. I will say that the price is a bit higher than average, so this will be a splurge type dinner (depending on your budget)for your party, however big that may be. But the experience and flavor of everything will create lasting memories. If you really feel like being bold, they have cognac for $200 a shot! And did I mention that the staff did an exceptional job at making sure we were well informed of how everything works and what types of meats we were being brought to our table as well as the Exquisite description of the fine desserts that they also serve. I must say that I'm a sucker for their carrot cake as it was mouth watering! If you have never been to this restaurant I highly recommend it! To wrap things up, a huge Rave to the manager and staff at Texas de Brazil in Tyler, Tx! They not only made us feel welcome and invited, but they treated us like we were their only customers in a packed restaurant, as well as treating us like royalty. It truly was an experience to behold. Thank you so much for the excellent hospitality!

BEWARE DISHONEST STAFF

Update February 2024: We had another disappointing experience here on Valentine’s Day. We booked a month in advance and had been looking forward to it. There was some weirdness when we were being seated. Hostess got confused after walking us to a table walked us back to the hostess stand, then walked us back to the same table, weird ,but ok whatever.

Then our server greeted us, but stopped halfway through as a different waiter offered us someone else’s drinks, then our waiter had to debate with the table behind us because I guess he had made a mistake with their drink order. All this is happening as he’s first greeting our table for the evening.

Then things improve, we have a nice dinner, no more issues except I will say I was served a spoon with my dessert that was soaking wet from very very smelly dish water. Was really gross, but otherwise the meal was really nice.

THEN half an hour later we are driving home, we get a call at 10:30pm from a local number. It’s someone from the restaurant saying we didn’t pay for one of the tabs. It was just myself and my fiance, and my sister and her fiance. We weren’t a large party. We paid at the same time, I actually thought we both paid with card, but after asking my sister after this call from the restaurant she informed me that they paid with cash! The waiter took both booklets, returned with my card ran and gave my sibling their change! They then left a 25%+ cash tip on the table! So either the waiter lost the cash or kept it for himself! And they are calling me asking me to settle the ticket (reservation was under my name and number). Then suddenly the guy we are speaking to says “Don’t worry about it, we voided it out since you didn’t answer” ( I had not answered the call initially because it was 10:30pm but called back within 2 minutes after googling the number). He also said “We figured it out”. Did you guys magically find the cash or did that waiter get to pocket over $200 from our table alone? Insane! Won’t be back after this. There’s plenty of nice places to eat in Tyler without all this confusion and messiness!

Original Review:

Very disappointing experience at a friends birthday. Apparently at $50 a plate you still need to specify when making a reservation a week in advance that you want to sit in actual chairs, not barstools for your meal. They tried to seat our party at the only (that I saw) table in the entire restaurant on high barstools in the very back of the restaurant and refused to seat us anywhere else. Reservation was made a week in advance and this was not disclosed. Members of our party couldn’t sit comfortably on them and we had to leave and go...
