In September 2024, I booked with Yasmine for my daughter’s 2025 prom and paid a $150 deposit. Following that, my daughter had a prom intake call on October 6th, where she explained the dress she envisioned, and Yasmine confidently confirmed she could make it. Yasmine instructed us to schedule a measurement appointment, at which time another deposit would be due.

However, after that conversation, communication from Yasmine completely stopped. On October 16th, my daughter reached out multiple times—via email, text, phone call, Facebook, and Instagram—with no response. We continued trying throughout the month of October with no success.

Then on November 4th, I received a text from Yasmine saying I would get a call within 30 minutes from a 908 number. That call never came. Despite additional follow-ups, we heard nothing back. At that point, I had no choice but to tell my daughter we needed to look elsewhere, as it was too late to try to book with another seamstress.

In January 2025, I emailed Yasmine to ask for a refund of my deposit and expressed my disappointment with her lack of communication and professionalism. Within minutes, she called and apologized, asking for another chance to make things right. After some thought, I decided to give her that second chance because I genuinely admired her work and wanted to support a Black woman-owned business.

Unfortunately, when I called her back to let her know, she ghosted me once again. I never heard from her again—and she never returned my deposit. I eventually had to go through my credit card company to dispute the charge and get my money back.

I am extremely disappointed by this entire experience. The lack of communication, broken promises, and complete unprofessionalism were unacceptable. I would strongly advise others to proceed with caution when considering...

I contacted Yaz to make a prom dress in 2021 for my daughter and from the very first interaction I was hooked. Loved the professionalism, her boutique was very clean and so chic, loved the vibe. Some how we stumbled on her page and I am so glad we did. When we met Yaz, she was warm and inviting, beautiful inside and out; felt like we had known her for years. Her personality is both professional and caring, such a joy to work with. Most importantly, the dress was completed on time and it was exactly what we asked for! We looovvveeee the dress!! Yasmine was EVERYTHING!!! I was kind of nervous at first because this was my daughters senior prom. You hear so many prom horror stories about seamstress getting over or not delivering your vision. However this wasn’t that. From the beginning she was very Nice, professional and patient with us. Whenever we had a question the communication was great. We trusted her and allowed her to do her thing with my daughters dress and she did just that. My baby looked like a Black Barbie for prom. She was gorgeous thanks to Yas.
