I walked into Computer Repair Doctor screaming "It is an emergency! Where is your best surgeon? My computer was in an accident and may be dying!" So Alex steps out in his white coat and tries to calm me down, saying, "Take it easy! I am sure we can help. What happened?"

I explained that as soon as I had stepped out of my home office to grab some coffee, my African Grey Parrot, named Greycie, who had been eying my computer from a few feet away, decided to leave her stand and chew several keys off my open laptop. The computer, with its information , was just about useless.

Alex said in a soothing voice, " Don't worry, this really isn't the emergency you are imagining. Your computer is far from dead. We can schedule elective surgery, once we have the correct replacement keyboard for your computer. In the meanwhile, I'll hospitalize your computer and give you a call in an hour, when I find out when I can get the right part and do the surgery."

As promised, he called me back within the hour and said, "I found an exact color match for your computer keyboard, and should be able to do the transplant in a week when the part is delivered."

Sure enough, I get a call from Alex, about a week later, " I have good news. The operation was successful and the patient has been discharged."

When I went to pick up my laptop, to my suprise, not only did my laptop look perfect, it operated much better, than I remembered. The cost of the surgery was quite reasonable, too. I thanked the doctor profusely and took the patient home.

Hopefully, I won't need the Computer Repair Doctor, anytime, soon, but it's reassuring to know that he is nearby in my neighborhood and is ready to handle any possible computer emergency. Now, I just have to find a more enticing "food" for Greycie...

(They also repair mobile phones, and it's probably worth asking if they can fix your CB radio or your Alexa.) The staff are charming and knowledgeable. If they don't have an answer in-brain they'll find it for you.

The repair prices are always reasonable and always low enough to make having your device fixed preferable to buying a new one. Turn-around has always been very rapid. I've been warned that difficult-to-obtain parts can slow the process, but I've never encountered this.
