Chicken Maven — Restaurant in South Euclid

Update: Sandwich was amazing (The Crispy), maybe the best $20 I spent on takeout around here. Was fresh, flavorful and the sauces were great. Fast service as well. Loaded with chicken and meat. Highly recommend.

Old review: Stopped by Chicken Maven, which just opened, and overall it's a solid start. I'm always patient during the first few months as places work out the kinks—and there’s potential here.

The setup is minimalist: no dine-in, just pickup. There’s a small counter area that might become bar seating down the line, but for now, it’s strictly grab-and-go.

I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich. The chicken itself was crispy and well-seasoned, but the bread-to-protein ratio needs work.

The sandwich was long, but lighter on filling—scaling down the bread and stacking the chicken would make for a much more satisfying bite and less waste.

Also, the sandwich needed some sauce to pull it all together. It wasn’t dry, but it lacked that extra punch.

There were no sauces in the bag when I got home, and staff didn’t mention grabbing any—adding them in by default or clearly labeling where to get them would go a long way. (No, I do not check my phone all the time and missed the automated text).

One other note: the baguette gets chewy and gummy fast. A quick toast option would help with texture and hold everything together better.

All in all, a 3.95 out of 5 with room for improvement. Looking forward to coming back and seeing how they refine things. The nuggets...

Best chicken in Cleveland! Got the buffalo sandwich, and it was amazing! The buffalo chicken was delicious and perfectly cooked, the chive sauce added a great kick, the vegetables added an amazing texture and freshness to the sandwiches, and the fried onions topped it off perfectly. The flaky and crunchy fingers were also amazing, when paired with their delicious sauces. They also have exceptional customer service, as we ordered soon before they closed, and realized we wouldn't be able to make it to the store in time. We called them, and they graciously offered to stay open late for us, so we would be able to get our food. 10/10 amazing...

I've had only positive and delicious experiences at this new chicken spot but I feel compelled to finally leave an overdue 5- star review after a remarkable customer service incident yesterday at the Chicken Maven. I, as the customer accidentally told them the wrong time for pick up of an order I needed-- an hour later than when I actually needed it. This was a catering order for 15 people. The staff and managers were gracious when I showed up and admitted my mistake. They hustled to meet my deadline and did so graciously without placing blame on me.
