I was trying to find a place to give a review to REACH Air Medical Services, but I couldn't, so I'll do my review here. Yesterday I came here because there were two REACH helicopters. I came hoping to see them take off. It was already dark, but who cares. Eventually, the pilot for N39RX came out, and we asked him when they would depart, and he kindly told us the time, so now we knew. We also asked if we could go into the airport to see the helicopters up close, and he said yes! We were able to go into the airport and onto the taxiway where the helicopters were parked and take pictures and videos. We also learned some facts from the pilot and what they do on a daily basis. I also asked if we could film the helicopters taking off while we were on the taxiway, and the pilot said he would go ask the airport manager and let us know when the time came. There was a Christmas party going on, which is probably why he needed to ask and why they were there. When the time came, he said we were able to go onto the taxiway and get up close footage of the helicopters taking off! First N36RX did an awesome takeoff and then shortly after N39RX took off. The pilot for N39RX (the one we talked to/let us into the airport) did a low passby along the runway and a goodbye hover before leaving the airport. I gotta say, this was one of my best experiences here at Cable Airport, and I will never forget it. Thank you, REACH Air Medical Services, for everything you do and what you did yesterday. You all were so kind and gave us some...
Read moreCable Airport is a privately owned airport. Dewey Cable scratched his little hunk of Heaven after World War Two and it is now probably the largest privately owned public use Airport in the United States.
If you like watching airplanes take off and land the Cable family built you a nice area on the north east end of the Airport where you can park your car and eat lunch. That view area is on Benson Ave just North of 13th Street. You can also go have breakfast or lunch at Maniac Mikes Cafe they just expanded their patio which allows better views of airplanes taking off...
Read moreI like being able to fly into the Cable airport. The location is ideal for me and makes travel to the area convenient. Everyone is very friendly, and it’s nice to see the field busy during the weekdays. Fuel was inexpensive, and the little parking/viewing spot is pretty cool. If you want to sit and watch planes takeoff and land check out the south east end of the runway. This airport has some interesting history as well. Check out...
