So, let's keep this limited to professionalism and customer service. If you are looking for that, this isn't the place. If you're looking for a very unprofessional store manager, you've found your place. Her name is Noemi C. and she told us she was the store mgr. If you're looking for employees who automatically assume you're not being honest, maybe tainted by the world of retail, you've found your place. My husband, who went in for a specific paint color we found on the website, showed them the text I sent him with the color and came home with a different color. He only went for what I showed him so he wasn't sure before he left the store that it was the color I wanted. It was not. We went back together the NEXT day so I can be sure we get the correct color and went straight to customer service. Told the young man what happened and he said "we can only exchange or fix" (his exact words). Went to paint department and proceeded to be harassed by the paint employee about why we didn't check the paint before we left and "This is what you asked for. We don't exchange paint." Explained what happened again and told her customer service told us we can "exchange or fix". She apparently didn't believe us so she stomped away and disappeared for a while only to come back and provide us the color we wanted. My husband left the old can there and took the new can and we proceeded to go check out at Pro Desk (because we are also construction professionals who go to Home Depot regularly) to purchase the other item we had (stain for our doors). The cashier saw the can of paint and we explained that it was an exchange so that she would not charge us. Store manager (didn't know who she was at that point) approaches and proceeds to harass us about that paint and "who said we would exchange it?" Explained again what happened and she repeats "we don't exchange paint". Told her what customer service told us and she said "you should have taken it back to customer service and not left it there" and, again "we don't exchange paint." My husband gestured toward customer service explaining again that we went there first and that's what we were told to do. She takes the paint and follows us to customer service, again not believing we were told this and desperate to prove us wrong. When we were proven to be telling the truth she became further annoyed and started on a rant of "I will make an exception this time but...we don't exchange paint." I tried to ask her what the issue was since she was being so unprofessional and loud and treating us like thieves. She refused to look at me and kept repeating that she'd make an exception, again never looking at me and talking to her employees as though we weren't there. She then spits out to my husband "you also came in yesterday and exchanged 5 gallons of mixed paint..." I looked at my husband because I knew he was there yesterday only to buy me the paint I wanted and had no paint to exchange so I was confused. I asked her to repeat that. She never looked at me and again continued talking as though I didn't exist. I repeated my question then asked her to prove to me that my husband returned said paint. Ignored me. I then asked for the store manager and she advised us she is the manager. Asked for her name and she provided it then asked for the district manager's name. She ignored me and the other employee I asked said "we don't provide that." We got on our way and I called Home Depot corporate office and gave them the full rundown. They gave me a case number and assured me this would get to the district manager and other levels of management. I will be calling back to ask if it has made it to them. Bottom line: if you're looking to be treated professionally and with any modicum of respect, this isn't your store. Go elsewhere. Not all Home Depots are like this. There are 2 others a little further away but worth the drive if you'd like to be treated fairly and still shop at Home Depot. Oh, and they "don't...
Read moreBeing handicapped, but not wanting at admit that I am handicapped, I have hit that time in my life where there is no shame in requesting help. That being said, I try to help the helpers whenever I can.
It is Monday about 3:30, and the parking lot is about as empty as I have ever seen it.
Limping into the gardening section with a cart in tow, I requested that the cashiers call someone to help me lift 10 sacks of fierlizer on my cart, and then help me lift the sacks into the back of my truck.
After leaving the cashiering section, I take my time getting to the fertilizer section (which is not far). Looking around and not seeing anyone on their way, I throw a bag of potting soil into my cart, and then slowly limp/amble on over to the manure section. I again look around to see if anyone is on their way to help and i see noone. I then slowly throw 10 sacks on manure onto my cart.
Like on que, after I finish loading the cart, I see two young ladies slowly walking over. I let them know that I have loaded the cart, but if they would be so kind to help me load the bags into my truck I would appreciate their help. They nodded and followed me to the cashier. Taking 2 minutes to pay, I then looked around and the two young ladies were nowhere to be seen. I looked at the cashier and asked where they went.
I then pointed to my truck, which was very near the garden section enterence, and asked if someone could help me load this stuff.
He indicated that if no one shows up that he would personnally help load the stuff.
After waiting 10 minutes, I started to load the truck having to rest a few times until the loading was completed.
I do not feel entitled, but I do expect people to do what they say they will do. This did not happen today! In all honesty, I wonder why one of the two ladies could not stay to help. They came to help together and left together. It reminded me of two Jr high-school girls having to go to the bathroom...
Read moreOn Tuesday April 22nd 2025 around 5pm we walked into the store to purchase 8 5 gallon paint to metal buckets of paint. We went up to the paint department and asked if they had 8 buckets of 5 gallon paint, they had 6 on the floor and the rest were up on a pallet. Ralf was assisting us and when we requested 2 more to complete the 8 he said it would take a while in an annoyed tone. From the beginning it looked like he didn’t want to help us. We said that was fine and he sighed in an annoyed manner. We took the 6 to the paint department to be prepared while they got a fork lift to bring down the ones that were on a pallet up on the rack. We then waited 30 minutes just for them to come up to us and request that we have to pay before they can prepare our paint. We asked them why and he said it was store policy. Then we informed him that we went to a Home Depot and purchased 8 buckets and they never requested us to pay first. We proceeded to go back and forth he then said you do realize these buckets are $200+ each after a little going back and forth he agreed to prepare the buckets keeping us there waiting for another 30 minutes. Once our paint was ready he walked us up to the cash register and didn’t leave until he saw that the payment was approved. We were racially discriminated and profiled while trying to purchase $1600 worth of paint. I have never experienced racial discrimination and profiling in this matter in my life, while paying with a Company American Express card wasting company time and putting my job on the line. But I guess it's Home Depot's store policy, according to Ralph, or maybe it's because of the way I look in the area this Home Depot is located; he didn't think we could possibly pay for the paint we...
