Five-Star Review for Weis Market āāāāā I had a truly exceptional experience at Weis Market, and I can't praise Max enough for his outstanding customer service at the self-checkout. From the moment I approached, he greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel welcome, which is not something I've often experienced as a new customer. Max went above and beyond to ensure that I handled my self-checkout smoothly. He was incredibly helpful, offering guidance and support without being intrusive. His friendly demeanor made the process not only easy but also enjoyable. Itās rare to find someone so dedicated to providing excellent service, and Max certainly made my visit memorable. I truly appreciate his efforts and kindness, which have definitely made me want to return to Weis Market in the future. Thank you, Max, for your wonderful assistance ā you are a true asset to the team! Below is my previous experience, but the last one was good and it was my second time ever shopping at the store. Max helped me with what another person at another time could never do and it was easy so there was no need for the nightmare that I had before previously so Iāve changed my review to five stars from the previous one star which was a nightmare checking out and is below what happened previously but I returned and Max was amazing and Iāll go back because of Max. It was at 6:54 that Iām leaving on a Sunday and he was a wonderful and so was all the other stuff at that time, but the store was almost empty and there was no one that couldāve processed a card for me so Iām very grateful for the courtesy scan which wouldāve shouldāve happened on my last visit. Thank you very very much, Max. Thank you I will return to the stores because of Max. I am a chef so I cook a lot. The last review is below this, but Iāve changed my review because of Max.
Previouse expe Ibelow changed my obecause-and my new star rating and review because of this employee -MAXhes wonderful Never go to one of these stores. I spent an hour and a half in the store. Initially, I went there for oil and garlic, specifically peeled garlic. Of course, I ended up picking up many other things, but the experience was frustrating from the start.bdxaise no one was in produce to assist I had to return to the produce section five times, which was incredibly inconvenient. At the end of my shopping, when my cart was very full, I sought help from three employees. Despite my requests, no one was able to assist me. A guy finally told me, āOh, itās over in produce. I can't leave.ā This response left me feeling abandoned. Desperate for assistance, a off duty store employee who wasnāt even on dufor-was asked or help me in finding the peeled garlic. He spent a good 20 minutes trying to help me but ultimately couldnāt find anyone who worked in the store to assist us. After that ordeal, I proceeded to stand in line because I wanted help with my checkoutāself-checkout was not my preference. When I reached the front, the cashier informed me that I needed a card for a discount but couldnāt help me acquire one. Frustrated, I returned all my groceries to my cart and headed over to customer service, only to find a sign saying it was closed for lunch. I waited ten minutes, and still, no one came. I waited another five, and once again, there was no one to assist me in getting the card I needed to pay for my items. Eventually, I was told that I had to walk over to a man waiting at the door. However, when I approached him, he stated that he couldnāt leave his post. He pulled out his card, scanned it, and then simply walked away, leaving me without the help I needed. During my brief interaction with self-checkout, I encountered a problem, but the employee who had helped me earlier was nowhere to be found. After waiting another five minutes for assistance that never came, I left my cart behind. This experience was ridiculous, and the sign I saw saying āclosed for lunchā perfectly encapsulated how unacceptable the customer service was. I will never go to one of these...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI try to avoid Weis stores in general, because their obnoxious prices would have me broke in no time. Itās clear their only motive is greed and looking out for customers well-being is not a priority at all, which is a shame considering itās the customers who keep stores running.
The placement of items is confusing and frustrating, things that would normally be grouped together are on opposite sides wasting an unnecessary amount of time. Forget finding an associate willing to help or who knows anything, they all just seem to huddle together at self checkout to stare at you, cause God forbid one of them get behind an actual register to work.
Their customer service on the weekends does not open until 10am. What?! Any other store they open at 8, or at most 9. But even when theyāre āopenā theyāre not. You are forced to stand there to wait, while someone emerges from the back and usually with a distinct look of annoyance to have to actually work. Um, ok.
Itās the ONLY store Iāve ever been in where the bakery shelves are empty at 9am. So forget coming here before work to pick up treats for the office, or if attending an early breakfast. You open at 7am for Peteās sake, thereās literally no reason for the shelves to be empty. Otherwise, what the heck are you paying the employees to do during that time? Most stores the bakery staff is in earlier than the store opens to ensure these items are stocked and ready to go, but again, this store is not for the customer at all, theyāre only mission is to inflate prices even more so than weāve already been hit with.
Iāll say the store is usually very clean, which is probably the only positive thing I can note here. Heed the advice of other recent reviews, there is no customer service and unless youāre a fan of wasting your time & becoming unnecessarily frustrated when buying essential day to day items, do yourself a giant favor and go somewhere else. Even if the store is 10 mins further, youāll still save yourself tons of $ and boatloads of time by going elsewhere.
At this rate the more people catch on, or simply become so fed up they just stop going that I wouldnāt be surprised if this store goes belly up sooner than later. And it will be all their own greedy and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a less-than-savory experience in this store today. I brought my reusable grocery bags into the store today as many people do these days. I usually am guilty of forgetting them, but today I remembered to bring them. There were several checkout lanes open, it was 2pm on a Monday, so the store was not that busy. I wheeled into a lane and started to unload the cart onto the checkout conveyor belt and remembered that I had the bags. I had already courteously greeted the cashier when first approaching the line, and now let her know that I had brought reusable bag with me. She said "I don't bag those bags", and told me she would place my groceries atop the plastic bag carousel for me to bag. Now listen, Weiss, I am not opposed to bagging my groceries. Do it all the time. But the cashier seemed aggravated, and frankly she was curt and borderline rude.
As I continued to pile my groceries on the belt I asked her if it was a store policy not to bag using the reusable bags. She responded "it is the cashier's choice and she chooses not to". I then had to ask, nicely, why does she choose not to? Response: "those bags come from people's houses and are dirty and I don't want to touch them".
I don't know... She had gloves on... She takes cash from people that I would be willing to bet is a heck of a lot dirtier than my reusable bags. What's the big deal. I'm just trying to do my part here reducing unnecessary waste.
Really, it probably wasn't the most egregious thing I encountered today. It wasn't that big of a deal. Maybe if there was a reciprocated kindness during the whole interaction I wouldn't have given a lick. But it was a little tense, a lot aggravating, and I left the store and called a couple of people with "listen to this" phone calls.
Seems to me that a ton of people use these bags these days. Store policy is what it is and now I know. But I also know that Acme, Giant, and Wegmans are all just as close to my house as Weiss is. And I haven't had this experience with my reusable bags at any of those stores. I won't be revisiting Weiss ever....
