Dr. Harshil Boghara is hands down the best dentist Iāve ever had the pleasure of visiting (sorry, not sorry other dentists).
I have several congenitally missing adult teeth throughout the entirety of my mouth. Needless to say, as I got older my teeth were either very small or missing because baby teeth only last so long. My family wasnāt able to address it when I was a child so I had to wait until I was an adult. I grew up feeling incredibly self conscious to the point that I manipulated how I smiled, laughed, and interacted with others which greatly impacted the way I viewed myself and my worth.
My case was complex and to have it done correctly, I knew I would need to invest a lot of my hard earned money into a practice. This was a hard thing for me to do. I visited several offices with several plans that didnāt fit what I needed, it would take years of playing tag with multiple different dentists, surgeons, and orthodontists. My long term goal felt completely unobtainable in terms of time and I didnāt feel comfortable with the final product the other dentists were proposing for the price I was going to pay- especially without financing. I also didnāt feel very valued as a patient.
After much searching, I came across Smile Culture Dental. I met Dr. Harshil Boghara who instantly impressed me with his friendliness, knowledge, comprehensive long term care plan, and top of the line facility including materials. He came up with a plan that fit my needs and budget resulting in multiple implants, bridges, and veneers. His office is fully staffed which also meant I wouldnāt need to play tag with multiple practices and providers- this was important for time and financing. I met with his in office business manager, Wanda, who was able to go over ever single cost with me. She stayed with me for over an hour as we went over financing. She was honest, super friendly, and never pushed anything on me that I wasnāt comfortable with. I left that day knowing Smile Culture was the place and Dr. Harshil was dentist that would be the best fit for me.
Dr. Harshil didnāt make me wait a single moment to start my treatment, but let me make it clear, it was not rushed. He took multiple high tech steps in preparation that many other practices donāt have access to. He has gone above and beyond with his customer service making himself super available and making sure that the product he delivers is the absolute best. Iāve learned, he will not deliver a less than perfect result, which is greatly appreciated. He made me feel like I was a VIP and valued every time I came in.
He recently put in a portion of my new smile for the first time, and I cried when I got home, like ugly cried, but in a good way. Since Iāve had them Iāve done nothing but smile and Iām almost certain there is a new sparkle in my eye I never had before. They look amazing- and Iām not even finished yet!
Iām standing taller, I feel better about myself, my face is more relaxed, and I donāt need to think before I genuinely smile anymore. I can just laugh and not feel bad, but feel good!
Thank you Dr. Harshil, youāve changed my life, you donāt even know and this blurb doesnāt even cover a fraction of my gratitude and appreciation. Your work is phenomenal and I canāt wait to see the very final product!
So, if you are looking for an awesome dental experience, with awesome staff (shout out to my girl, Dorthy!), and the best Dentist, visit Smile Culture and ask for Dr. Harshil.
PS- DR. Benner straight drilled 3 implants into my face including a bone graph and only my gums were sore by the 2 day of healing-no swelling, no bruises! Thatās some super implant work!...
Ā Ā Ā Read more3 stars is rounding up for my visit at Huntingdon Valley yesterday.
I loved my dental hygienist, Rachel(?), who was SO sweet. She explained what she was doing and what she noticed about my teeth and gums as she went, which helped me understand a lot about the state of my mouth and what's causing what. But she normally works at a different office anyway, so I really just got lucky to have her! I also got the most thorough x-rays I've ever had: one of each tooth, plus a panaramic and a bite assessment to show my pressure points--also super helpful for understanding how severely my bite is contributing to my clenching at night and thus migraines. This is also one of the few dental offices I could find that was willing to work with me on being self-pay: the $79 was well worth it for a good cleaning and all those x-rays. But that was only 50% of the reason I went. I also needed to chat with a dentist about mouthguard recommendations. Which brings me to the negatives:
First off, the receptionist failed to impress. She kept getting my phone number wrong, so I missed the confirmation call 2 days prior. She also kept me waiting for 20 minutes without explanation and just didn't seem to care that much. But whatever. The REAL turn-off was the dentist, Dr. Parikh (aka Dr. Kush). He was very rough in the 2 seconds he took to look at my teeth, so thank goodness he didn't have to do work on them. The real issue was his poor bedside manner. He interrupted me CONSTANTLY. I wasn't even able to finish explaining why I was there, which seems kind of important. And he didn't really seem to hear anything I did manage to get out, probably because he kept talking over me. I really needed advice on a good mouthguard to try, but he was so sure anything online was such a terrible idea that it wasn't worth discussing, and he flat out refused to offer any advice on them at all. He just wanted me to order one from him ($750) and come back again (a 30-min drive) for a specialist's advice about extreme, long-term solutions instead. What I don't understand is how the mouthguard I found is that different from his--It's a mold you create with dentists, with the hard exterior and soft interior. But it has different size and fit options, so without a dentist's help, I don't know which one to order. Especialy without insurance, I really would have appreciated Dr. Parikh's consideration and a gentle explanation of why the one I was looking at might or might not work for me, at least in the short term.
Before I moved here from out West, my dentist was always happy to talk with me about things like this and help me find a solution that would work best for me and my situation. I've never felt so pushed aside or just not cared about by a dentist before.
All in all, I suppose it's good I went because I really needed the cleaning, and this was an affordable way to get one. Plus I have a better understanding now of my progressing bite issues and how they're contributing to my migraines. But the problem is they didn't actually do anything about it! So I'm still stuck with no solution for my migraines, which are getting worse. I just don't see why he couldn't consult with me on this. Thankfully the ortho consult is free, so I guess I can see if that doctor is any more helpful. But I have my doubts and may cancel--which even I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate - It is now September of 2025! My treatment is not yet complete, but it's only because I have stubborn teeth. The photos still show incredible progress, and I'll update again once I get my retainers.
I had all of the work that I needed done taken care of and then finally decided to proceed with Invisalign treatment. Dr. Kush took care of all of the dental work, and Dr. Taee is taking care of the orthodontic and cosmetic work. All of my teeth are my real teeth! I am absolutely THRILLED with my results. They are so incredibly kind, patient, friendly, honest, up-front, knowledgeable, etc. from start to finish. I haven't had so much as a cavity in well over 2 years because I care about my dental hygiene SO much now that I'm almost through Invisalign treatment and whitening. Dr. Taee not only individualized my own Invisalign treatment plan, but he also included the cosmetic work (polishing, shaving down teeth to get rid of ridges/make them even, etc). I will NEVER, EVER go to another dentist, endodontist, or orthodontist as long as I live. They quite literally changed my life! I'm SO happy with my smile for the first time in my entire life. If I could give you a million stars, I would!
Up until I found Smile Culture, I was absolutely TERRIFIED of any type of dental work whatsoever. I had so many negative experiences with other dentists in this area that I required nitrous oxide for things as simple as fillings in the past. I don't have dental insurance, and back in December of 2022, they were offering a $49 cleaning for all new, uninsured patients. As soon as I walked in (I go to the Huntingdon Valley location), I was greeted by extremely kind, friendly, polite and professional people at the front desk. Gia cleaned my teeth and did a TERRIFIC job. Not only did I get a cleaning, but also full x-rays, a 3D scan of my teeth (I could literally see every one of my teeth from all angles), and a dental exam by a dentist. Gia is AMAZING! The dentist found one cavity that I went back and got filled today. Dr. Kush is OUTSTANDING! He made me feel comfortable from the very beginning. He took his time, made the entire experience almost completely painless, and made sure to polish my tooth until it felt 100% natural. He was so nice, thorough, and professional. Update: It is now August of 2022. The same dentist who did my filling did a root canal for me today. I absolutely love the fact that I can get everything done by the same dentist/endodontist at the dame office. I no longer require nitrous oxide! I still have some dental anxiety, but it is getting better with every visit. Dr. Kush is the best of the best! I would HIGHLY recommend Smile Culture to ANYONE! If you don't have dental insurance, i would also recommend signing up for their in-house dental plan. It's FANTASTIC. Thank you SO much, Smile Culture (Huntingdon Valley) for making dental visits something that I no longer have to...
