Island Nail Spa — Local services in Upper Township

They are a true walk-in nail salon. Before coming to this place we were told elsewhere 'we accept walk-ins but you have to come back at 3:30 (nearly 2.5 hrs later). So we came here and waited 15 mins. Not bad for being ful of customers. Would definitely recommend this place. The other salon lost out on a big sale😂

June 27 Today I came in for a dip manicure. I specifically chose this style because I was told the uv light is not used. They even have a poster indicating that they don't use UV light.

So I was very surprised that I was told to get the desired effect, I needed to use the uv light and I did.

I'm very pleased with how my nails turned out, however I was surprised that my cuticles weren't attended in the traditional way with the tools to remove extra thick cuticle skin. Perhaps I didn't realize that there's a new method of just using a motorized buffing tool. It does help some in removing cuticle skin, but there is nothing like the cuticle clippers.

Also I was shocked that my unwashed hands with dirt under my nails was dipped directly into the powder. I was thinking if I had I fungus I would have spread it. And I could have easily picked up something.

So because of this I'm reducing my stars...

This salon and its staff and especially technician Nancy get 10 out of 5 from me! I travel the world and have to get my nails done somewhere else every few weeks. It’s hard to find really good ones and this one is exceptional! I got ombré white and pink nail powder on my finger nails and an awesome (hot stones) pedicure with gel nail polish and cat eye effect on my toes. The salon is very clean, comfortable, nice atmosphere, water/ drinks served, up to date tools. The staff were thorough, careful, exact to perfection and super friendly. I was even offered a discount at the end for my full package AND given a lovely full size hand cream as a gift. I wish I could come here all the time, my nails are the most perfect and beautiful they’ve ever been. I gave a big tip and don’t normally do that, I was that thrilled!! Overnight change of ownership a few weeks ago... as often happens with nail salons. Very bad experience. I waited over a half hour even though I had an appointment. Nail tech was rough and abrupt. He spoke very little English, so it was difficult to communicate. He cut my nails way too short when asked just to shape them. AND he filed them unevenly. I wondered if he had vision problems--it was that bad.. The salon is unclean as well. I spent $70 for a gel manicure and spa pedi to have a rushed, hurtful (painful leg massage), unprofessional and unsanitary experience. ...
