Heritage Market Center — Local services in Vancouver

It has been a year and this Safeway review needed an update. Unfortunately things have not changed much with the exception that it’s only gotten worse. I went to get my sour cream out for dinner a couple of nights ago and this picture shows what I had to look at: The date on it says 12 February 2024. I decided to look up how long past the “buy by this date” is sour cream supposed to be good and every website said 3 weeks!! I’ve just had it with these guys. At this point, I’d rather pay more money somewhere else for the exact same purchases because I at least know I can rely on freshness, fruit and veggies that taste the way they are supposed to taste. The one and only thing my husband and I will miss is Solomon, the friendliest, most efficient cashier and now friend anywhere! He’s the only reason we gave it another year of buying disappointing food with a lack of choice in other areas of the store. This Safeway gives other Safeways a bad reputation. This Safeway is one of the worst I have ever been to and unfortunately it is the only one in my neighborhood. Their shelves always seem to be half empty. They don't have a very good selection and they rarely have anything that's new. Worst of all is that buying their produce is like throwing money in the garbage. It's generally not close to being ripe or once in a while over ripe. So...

I love this store the location is great but I'm tired of having to have a card and now I have to have digital this and digital that and it never seems to work. I've gotten home checked my receipt several times in my discounts have not been on there. Very disappointing. I ordered a Thanksgiving dinner from Safeway this year and it was horrible. The turkey was frozen solid the potatoes were disgusting and they're just overall wasn't anything good to be said for an $80 dinner. I will never do it again this is my second year and the second year I was disappointed. I really thought the first time was just a fluke but...

Great place....unless you need anything from the RUDE and I mean EXTRA RUDE woman who works in the meat department. She never seems to want to help and will go above and beyond to do avoid doing a simple task. Need pepperoni sticks? Instead of getting some out of the boxes always sitting there, she will parade you through the store as if you haven't looked. Need help with anything else, she will avoid eye contact and act as if she is "busy". Need a question answered, don't bother, because the best you'll get is a smart remark or I don't know.
