TLDR: The self described manager of the print counter (name given was Winter) was extremely unprofessional/rude, ruined my prints, and then refused to help me speak to a supervisor.
Had a really unfortunate experience here today. I called about getting some images cut and laminated and was told it would be no issue. I brought in 2 prints (4 images per print) that I needed cut and laminated and was told by the employee in the print area that it would be cheaper and easier if I cut/trim the images myself using their blade at a little self service counter. I was happy to do so and attempted to cut my images myself, but the blade was so incredibly dull that it would not cut through the paper and was leaving crooked/jagged edges (photo paper). It ruined one of the images I was hoping to laminate but I had extra so I let it go and went to the counter to ask for assistance. The woman (she claimed her name was Winter when asked) didn't seem willing to change the blade on the cutter for me but said she could cut my images for a cost. I tried to explain how they needed to be cut but she was acting very upset to have to help me and just took the images and said "yeah I get it" before I could properly communicate how I wanted them cut. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and handed them over. She then cut the images and asked what kind of lamination I wanted. She then began lamination process without ever showing me the images she had cut or how she had cut them. I ended up with my images cut in ways they weren't supposed to be and the lamination itself seemed poorly adhered. The entire time this employee (claimed to be named Winter) had a poor customer service attitude and made me feel very unwelcome. I'm very familiar with the challenges of customer service and didn't get outwardly angry, I just said that I was slightly frustrated because they were not cut how I had needed them to be. She then said in a very rude way "well that's why I told you to cut them yourself." I asked if I could speak to a manager and was told that she WAS the manager. When I asked if she had a supervisor I could speak to she said no. I didn't want to cause a scene or disrupt the store so I just paid for my service and asked for her name.
If the woman working the print counter today is truly a manger I am really surprised. She was so wildly unprofessional and smacking/popping gum while glaring/pouting the entire time she was helping me. Probably would never come back to this store again and I honestly should have asked for a refund considering I paid almost 13 dollars to have my own prints (that also cost me money to get...
Read moreUpdated 11/18/23: The person working the copy station was very nice and fixed my order right away, which was much appreciated. Didn't have to pay for another copy. Bumped up review 2 extra stars, but I think the Store Manager should address with their staff the customer service issues, and double check orders for errors before finalizing them.
As previous reviewers have stated, I too would like to comment on the bad customer service here. I came in at 8pm and wandered around trying to find what I was looking for. You'd think being outnumbered 7 to 1 that one of the employees would ask if I needed help finding anything.
The reason I'm making this review however is that I needed an item printed and laminated. The edges of the copy got cut off, leaving a white border around the whole thing, losing important information on the document, despite the print preview showing everything looking fine.
It's not obvious to me if I did something wrong submitting the order, or if something happened on OD's end. But a phone call explaining that my print was flawed and asking how to proceed would have been a nice QA catch so we wouldn't have to waste everyone's time and money making...
Read moreWorst experience I've ever had at a retail store, to be told that no one could help me cause they were closing in 30 minutes tells me why aren't they closed at that time. I was looking at spending up to $800 on a color laser printer and this kid wouldnt lift a finger to help me. I had been directed by another store to drive all the way up here cause it showed they had multiple different printers in stock and again this kid told me that he wasn't familiar with printers and apparently he wasn't familiar with looking to see if they had any of 12 different printers in stock and told me to come back tomorrow. I told him that I had driven and hour to get here to buy and that didn't matter to him at all so Office Depot this is who you have working for you and I will never step foot in another one of your stores and I will make sure and tell people that not to go in one of your stores if they are within an hour of closing since there associates apparently shut down and that is their wind down time to close up the store and not to lift a finger to help someone. If he worked for me and I heard that come from one of my employees they would be fired...
