Brother went in for an oil change. After a couple days driving the car he got Low Pressure warning. Stopped the car to check oil and it was very low. Jacked the car up, and the oil filter housing was missing a little cap, therefore, once the engine built pressure it started leaking slowly through the drain valve. Luckily we caught it on time, replaced the filter housing and topped of the oil. No harm to the engine. Called Valvoline to explain the issue, they said the car could work fine without the cap and that the oil was changed correctly even though I saw the cap was missing and it was clearly either not put back after the oil change or if it was never there, technician didn’t bother letting my brother know. I would find it odd since the car did not have an issue before. Anyways, called Valvoline, explained the issue, they agreed on refunding the oil change. Gave them address and all information since they would mail a check. Manager either didn’t write the address or just didn’t care and sent it to the wrong address, previously on file, from car’s previous owner, years ago. Lesson learned. Not going back. Still waiting on the refund.
Edit to the response. I do not expect any outcome other than Valvoline making it right. Just wanted to share my experience so others can account for it when doing their own due diligence when choosing a shop. Per my quick research on the reviews, it seems like the missed parts, over torqued, under torqued are not a...
Read moreUPDATE: My husband took my car back to them this morning and it ended up that the technician who worked on my car did not tighten the air filter hoses when putting it back after checking it yesterday. This caused too much air to enter my engine and caused the bog down, starting issues and the check engine light to come on. I changed my review to a 3 stars because I feel like they should have double checked the things they take apart to make sure they are tightened and back in place before the customer leaves.
I went to this location yesterday (1/6/2021) to get my oil changed. The service tech said my car was recommending the fuel treatment to which I gave the go ahead. I went straight home from there which is just around the corner off of McGillivray. I went to start my car this morning and it would not start. It took 5 tries to start and it finally started but I had to keep it revved up. Now my check engine light is on and it won't hold my cruise control. I work in Tualatin and when I got to work, I shut it off and tried starting it again and it took several tries again, also having to rev it up. My car purred like a kitten before yesterday afternoon and I had no issues with it at all. I will be talking to the manager as soon as they open. I will be taking my car to my mechanic and if they find that it has to do with whatever they put in my gas tank, I will be expecting full...
Read moreShout out to J.J.
First off, ill make this clear. I do not leave many reviews. I must say, it was the best service i got going to that location.
I first came in for a a/c service. My first visit, he told me where i was leaking and was unable to proceed with the recharge. So i went home, took care my issue and came back.
Some time had past through out the day and i returned for a 2nd try. J.J. instantly remembered me and was ready on the spot to do a a/c service. He was out most professional, communicative, and very accommodating to what was needed. J.J went above and beyond of his services. I say this, because when he was charging my car, it had failed. He did a quick thinking to let me car run for a few minutes, and said "lets try one more time". Crossing fingers, with time counting. It finally fully completed its charge. I was so happy to finally have a/c in my car from an old owner taking the a/c out of the car that i haf a few months. I Did have a kid, not to mention. Can you imagine no a/c in the summer? He understood my story and he tried and never gave up. NOT ONLY i left with a happy cooled car. He saved my son and i from the summer heat that was coming in.
THANK YOU AGAIN J.J
I hope your work is recognized. I work at a customer service job, and you sir, GOT IT.
