Dollar Tree — Local services in Vermilion

Let me start off by saying I rarely do reviews on anything but sometimes you feel the urge to, ya know? I love this location & the cleanliness of the store. The main problem is the current store manager. It all started on a Sunday morning, august 2022. I came for a shift like I always do. Nobody was there. I called multiple times & even texted once but after an half hour I left. She texted me an hour and a half after we were supposed to be open to contact the other managers that they should be there (I did but no one else was told to come in). After that, she retaliated against me & my disability because she let her emotions get the best of her which shouldn’t be brought into work in the first place. I understand things happen but the way I was treated when certain situations happened wasn’t right.

I tried to handle everything professionally & respectfully but she was the complete opposite. Yelling at me in front of customers for asking questions when I came in on my days off, leaving me shaking and balling on the job? Yeah, no.

I’ve heard other horror stories in different states but simply trying to make me a repeated target because I have a physical disability is a new low. I’ve never had anyone do this to me in a work setting and it’s mind boggling how much I actually put up with but i overall loved my job and the customers I saw so I kept on going.

The biggest problem was always the back and forth answers. How are we supposed to succeed if we’re confused on what to do in the moment and when we do what we think is best, we just might get in trouble? Communication was definitely off so many times.

What’s the funniest part is she can get away with doing whatever she wants because of a manager title but when an associate follows the same protocols they would have to do, it’s not okay? Make it make sense.

This place has so much potential if the right people are there to stay. It’s an actual shame. What sucks even more is this won’t matter either. Whoever ends up getting this email about the review is probably just going to laugh reading this and push everything under the rug. That’s what this company does the best...

I was at this store and this wonderful woman in a wheelchair was helping me out and this manager came up started berating her yelling at her for no reason. It was really uncalled for I hope that manager gets a talking to because that young lady did nothing wrong she has great customer service skills hopefully when I go back she’s there but that manager should be fired you don’t talk to your employees like that especially ones who didn’t do anything wrong that manager should be ashamed of herself. New Dollertree by Walmart in Vermillion's Manager stood in front complaining about not making sales to an employee. When I went to check out they were still complaining, no checkers. A third person finally came. I asked if they were manager when they walked into the office, checker said yes. I said keep my coin change I wouldn't be back.
