This really is an incredible record shop. It's not the largest size-wise but they pack an absolute punch with inventory and how the place is displayed. Absolutely outstanding selection as well with all kinds of hard to find goodies, and the owner, who I believe said his name was James, was a very nice guy to talk to.
The reasons I'm putting 4 stars instead of 5 are two things.
Number 1 - I have absolutely no problem with stores selling unofficial vinyl. In many cases this is a great way to fill spots in on a collection for hard to find vinyl and in rare cases, can sound just as good as or even better than some of the original pressings. HOWEVER, if you're going to sell unofficial vinyl, you have to mark them. I have been around the block and was able to spot some of these, but man, if I didn't know what I was doing, I'd have walked out with a large number of them, and they were not "cheap." While we're talking about marking vinyl, in general, it would be helpful to have stickers on the products that display whether or not his inventory is new or used in the first place, and then the condition of each record as well. None of which I saw going on here.
The 2nd issue, but less so, is pricing. Not that things are too expensive here per say. I don't think I thought to myself "oh man, what a deal!" while I was here, but my real issue lies within used and new vinyl of the same records costing the exact same. 2 used records of different conditions costing the exact same. And the kind of outrageous prices on the unofficial records that were here. Don't get me wrong, they are for the most part aligned with "market pricing" but the inconsistency and lack of transparency was slightly bothersome.
If he works on these 2 issues, he's a 5 star operation through and through. And I still recommend going and check this place out. I bought over $400 of records from him myself and will continue to do so, so I absolutely think everyone should come support this shop. I would just like to see more transparency and some of the pricing on unofficial vinyl to feel a bit more affordable for what you're getting, which at the end of the day, is...
Read moreI've been frequenting Wax for a couple of months now, and figured it would be a good time to write about my experiences there.
First off, it's really good to see a locally owned business with prices that are 99% of the time lower than Amazon/eBay.
Secondly, the selection is fantastic. I've picked up a few vinyls that I haven't been able to find anywhere else, and some that are just priced astronomically on Amazon/eBay. I've also had a few albums ordered in for me.
Lastly, the owner and staff are not only knowledgeable but friendly and easy to talk with. They know music, whether you're looking for info. on a particular pressing or audio gear, they will be able to help.
Vero Beach is lucky to have...

This record store sells A LOT of bootleg vinyls that are unmarked as such and full price. This is a ridiculous scam and would easily be missed to someone who is not a seasoned record collector.
A bootleg record is a made-at-home vinyl that is created by copying the music directly off the CD/MP3 release. This is gross and it’s absurd this store is in business.
Don’t believe me? Then I encourage you to do your own research on bootleg albums, go visit the store, and see...
