I was in Vero Beach today visiting some of my customers and doing a little marketing in the area and I decided to stop for lunch at The Green Marlin Restaurant and Bar. I have to tell you folks if you been following me on here on all these local Restaurants that I visit and dine at. Then you know I give very accurate and detailed reviews. So, with that said, The Green Marlin Restaurant and Bar is an EMERALD that shines bright in Vero Beach. I had their Mushroom, Onion and Swiss Burger meat temp Medium with a side of fries Extra Crispy, and to finish it off my waitress SARA who also doubles as a manager as well makes her own Pecan Pies there from scratch. (SEE PICTURES) I have got to tell you that it was absolutely PERFECT!!! The meat temp was SpotOn and the PIE OMG, SARA you da BOMB girl. That pie was perfect PERFECTION not too sweet and full of flavor. I had the right amount of table touches by the management as well. Folks let just say that a good Restaurant that is truly interested in their guest’s satisfaction must have a floor manager do a table touch but not too many then it becomes annoying. Alexa was the Floor Manager on Duty, and she was SpotOn with her visits. Asked all the right questions and made you feel that you are a valued guest. Thanks Alexa. I let the owner Lou, know how impressed I was with his staff and the level of High Hospitality engagement his staff did was great. To you Lou Thanks for such a great lunch and how you manage your Restaurant. Just to let everyone know that Lou encourages his staff to suggest and yes even bake or cook their suggested dishes if he approves it. Then is goes on the menu for the restaurant guests. (HOW AWESOME IS THAT!) We even had a side discussion that I'm going to let everyone know here on Google Reviews. Lou himself comes in to prep all the seafood to ensure that it meets his personnel quality standards. All his Seafood is never frozen and is ALWAYS Fresh! (I typed it that way because he was very proud of himself that he does that.) So, if you’re a Seafood connoisseur I would make the trip to Vero Beach it’s a nice ride on US 1 and well worth it. You may find out that you’re going to have a favorite restaurant to add to your go to spots. I know this seems like a commercial but hey when you find really good restaurants in the area you have to support them. The fact that they are still here after the pandemic says something too. Please let them know you read my review if you would please and that it prompted you to come check them out. I'd appreciate it....
Read moreMy wife and I had not been to this restaurant since it replaced The Outback. We were looking for a place to eat for one of our upcoming “high holy days”, so we decided to try lunch here, while sneaking a peak at the dinner menu. We decided to sit at the bar so we could watch the NFL Draft, but more so we wouldn’t confuse what appeared to be a harried hostess. After what could only qualify as a mediocre meal served by an even more mediocre bartender, as you might guess, we’re still looking for a good restaurant. To start, we both had a glass of Guinness draught. After one sip, we should have folded our tent and exited - stage right! It was soooooo flat! How can a restaurant serve flat Guinness and not know about it! Ugh! The menu had little diversity, but the prices are, undoubtedly, geared towards the rich people who live on Orchid Island - not the hard working folks who actually work for a living - or at least they once did - and live on the mainland. Ugh (2). We both ordered the fish and chips basket. The order came fairly quickly. The fish was tasty and cooked correctly. The fries tasted like they had been sprinkled with sugar - NOT GOOD AT ALL!! Ugh (3). There was a soggy hush puppy, which I sampled, but left. I was raised in the South. I know what hush puppies should taste like. These were made by someone born way above the Mason-Dixon Line. Ugh (4). We ate enough of our meals not to be rude, but finally decided enough was enough. Besides, the longer we sat the more yankees came in and sat at the bar. (Apparently, we’re trend sitters.). Yankees aren’t that bad unless they become neighbors - most forget their way home. Ugh (5). The straw that broke the camel’s back was a ditzy bleach blonde yankee lady who sat down with her husband. The first words out of her mouth was about how incredibly hot she was. I so wanted to say something about July and August in Central Florida. It would have been memorable, but I didn’t - so we left. The price of our meal was north of $40. Based on its quality, we probably won’t be eating here again. How can you mess up French fries? How do you screw up Guinness out of the tap? And when the speed of the bartender is done with an hour glass instead of a stop watch, you know you’re in trouble. If you want good food at a reasonable price, you won’t find it here. The...
Read moreI can't say enough about the fantastic experience I always have at The Green Marlin! This place truly knows how to deliver top-notch service and create a memorable dining atmosphere. If you're looking for a place to unwind and indulge in delicious seafood, this is the spot to be.
First of all, I absolutely love sitting outside at their newly constructed Tiki Bar. The ambiance is incredible, and it immediately transports you to a tropical paradise. The gentle breeze and soothing sounds of the ocean make the dining experience even more enjoyable.
Now, let's talk about the oysters – they are out of this world! Fresh, succulent, and expertly prepared, they are a must-try for any seafood enthusiast. And the best part? Wednesdays are Oyster Specials, so you can indulge in these delights without breaking the bank.
But the delights don't end there! If you visit on a Monday, you're in for a treat because it's Lobster Night! Juicy and flavorful lobsters are the highlight of the menu, and it's a tradition I look forward to every week.
And as if that wasn't enough, The Green Marlin goes above and beyond to provide entertainment for its guests. Live music is scheduled for Fridays, some Thursdays, and Saturdays, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. There's nothing like relishing delicious seafood while grooving to some great tunes.
The commitment of The Green Marlin to continuously expand their live music schedule shows that they genuinely care about their patrons' experience. It's evident that they are always striving to enhance their guests' enjoyment and satisfaction.
I can't recommend The Green Marlin enough to anyone seeking excellent seafood, outstanding service, and a lively atmosphere. Whether it's a casual dinner with friends, a special occasion, or simply a relaxing evening out, this place has it all. The Tiki Bar, the Oyster Specials on Wednesdays, Lobster Night on Mondays, and the live music – it's a recipe for an unforgettable dining experience!
