Stater Bros. Markets — Local services in Victorville

This review is about the bakery and Nicholas O., the manager for the evening of Thursday, November 10, 2022. I ordered a cake on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, with decorations for the Marine Corps Birthday, and I asked to have the cake completed by noon on Thursday, November 10, 2022, which is the Marine Corps Birthday (see image). I entered the store at 6:20 PM to pick up the cake, however, the bakery employee could not find my cake. After five minutes of looking for the cake, he confirms that it was not made. He then proceeds to call the manager to ask for his assistance. The manager, Nicholas, was checking people out at the register and asked if I would go to the register to receive the refund. I declined and said that I would wait for him because I wanted to know what happened to my order that I placed over a week ago. I waited 20 minutes for Nicholas to come and talk to me. I explained the importance of the cake and it being the Marine Corps Birthday, but Nicholas gave the impression that he was not going to fix the issue. He said things like, “I don’t know what happened,” and, “someone must’ve lost the paperwork.” To his credit, he did offer one of the already made cakes, but that just revealed that he had no idea what the Marine Corps Birthday was nor its importance. Furthermore, Nicholas did everything he could to avoid the issue instead of attempting to fix it. He offered a refund, but he didn’t offer to make the cake, even if it was for the following day. He didn’t offer to follow up with me to let me know how or why my order was neglected. He didn’t ensure that I was satisfied with his customer service. It’s unfortunate that this Stater Bros., cares little about military veterans. Today is the 247th Marine Corps Birthday and tomorrow is Veterans Day, and I have no cake to share with my neighbor who is a retired Marine Corps veteran. This is no longer the place where I will shop for special celebrations. It’s a shame because this is my local Stater Bros., which is around the corner. If you do order cakes from here, it might be a good practice to call ahead to make sure that your order is seen and being worked on. It was my mistake for having confidence in this...

This is my favorite Staters in the Victor Valley metro. Not just because it's close to home, but because of easy access off of and back onto Bear Valley Road or Amethyst Road, easy to navigate parking lot, very clean store, and most of all the employees!! The employees are the best!! So friendly and helpful. Especially the cashiers. They are FAST! You go up front to check out and see a horde of people and think aw darn, this will take a while, but these cashiers mow through a crowd of customers at lightning speed! And, they are very friendly and very professional all the while. Gail T. and Tami M. you ladies rock!! I can't remember the store managers name at the moment, but he's almost always present and jumps in to work a register himself often. I worked for Kroger for 6 years in almost every function of a grocery store, and I would be proud to have these people as my coworkers in the grocery business. This not the newest or largest Stater Brothers store by far (it's one of their mid-format stores) but it's kind of comfortingly old fashioned with a personal touch that's rare these days. Outside you often have creepy transients passing through nosing around for whatever they can find, but I've never seen them bother anyone. I'm kind of picky and the high desert of California is still a culture shock for me (native Coloradan) but this store has...

TODAY WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I WAS IN LINE AND SAW THE CASH REGISTER GUY COUNTING A CUSTOMERS MONEY AND I TOLD MY SELF... WE WILL SEE IF HE WASHES OR SANATIZES HIS HANDS BEFORE HE STARTS TO TOUCH MY FOOD... GUESS WHAT? HE STARTED HANDING MY FOOD AFTER HE TOUCHED A BUNCH OF CASH AND DIDN'T SANATIZE HIS HANDS... I TOLD HIM I WANT TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER ABOUT THIS BECAUSE HE DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE AFTER I SAID SOMETHING... WELL SOME DUDE CAME AND IM GUESSING WAS THE MANAGER AND WHEN I TOLD THE MANAGER WHAT I JUST SAW... THE MANAGER STUCK UP FOR THE EMPLOYEE AND SAID THEIRS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE TOUCHING FOOD ALL DAY LONG. OK? SO YOUR EMPLOYEE IS ALLOWED TO COUNT CASH ALL HE WANTS AND NEVER SANATIZE HIS HANDS? CRAZY! AND ON TOP OF THAT ITS NO BIG DEAL BECAUSE EVEN THE CUSTOMERS TOUCH EVERYTHING? OK... I'VE GONE TO THIS STATOR-BROS MANY TIMES SINCE I LIVE UP THE STREET AND THE NEXT TIME I SHOW UP... THEY WILL BE SEEING ME IN MY UNIFORM AND I WILL HAVE A BOOK WITH ME AND YES... IM GOING TO BE TAKING DOWN THE NAMES OF EVERY PERSON THAT WORKS AT THIS STORE... INCLUDING THE STORE OWNER! AGAIN I WILL BE IN UNIFORM AND I WILL TAKING EVERYONES NAMES!
