I just had one of the most insane retail interactions of my life today. I stopped Clio Cultivation to pick up some gardening supplies. As I was leaving the store I happened to ask an associate if they would be getting in any more LED T5 replacement bulbs. I had purchased quite a few on an excellent sale approximately 6 months prior, and was considering expanding. The associate wasn't sure so he directed me to the owner.
The owner proceeded to tell me how he wouldn't be carrying them any longer, and explained that he knew of several instances of them sparking and burning up. He started to tell me about some standard bulbs instead. I told him that I was more concerned about the fire hazard that he just told me that I had on my hands, and wanted to know if they knew that when they were having a clearance sale? I had not seen any information or signage letting customers know of the issue. Were they planning on letting anyone know? The owner became irate and started yelling that I was lying and making up stories. I tried to explain that there was no way I could be lying, or making something up, since he was the one who had just informed me about the issue. All he had to do was offer a discount on a replacement, and I would have been happy. Instead he decided that swearing and berating me in front everyone was a professional way to handle the situation. I told him that I wouldn't be coming back, and that I would like a refund on the items I had just purchased. He refused and screamed that there were NO REFUNDS! He was actively shaking like he was ready to have a fist fight. He closed our encounter by telling me that he hoped my bulbs were sparking and catching on fire right now, and that I should run home to check!
In addition to this interaction, none of the staff were wearing the state mandated face masks or even attempting to enforce customers to wear them. In fact the owner was telling another customer that he wasn't planning on complying with the state order, and that all anyone had to do was claim to have a medical condition to avoid wearing one. He was not only refusing to comply with a law to keep the community safe, he was actively trying to subvert it.
This was easily one of my top 3 worst experiences with any business EVER! I will...
Read moreShop is nice..most of the time the salesman try to do their best to get what you need.. Buddy being friendly is hit or miss sometimes..you can definitely tell when he is having a bad day...the 420 party this year was kind of disappointing.. hear buddy talking all the time about how great that the voters have spoken and made our great state legal..but yet the tent was for people with medical card..that leaves out a lot of people..probably won't go to next year's party..*EDIT Ive been medical for many years..ever since the laws have changed...its not that your event is medical...its that EVERYTHING of interest at your party was in the med tent..even all of the non medical stuff like bongs, pipes and the clothes..and i may have not had my card at that time but im of legal age to smoke all i want ..dont need a medical card for that..i understand about the medical laws but im not political..i believe everyone has a right to enjoy this plant..not just people who have a medical card..btw the state makes you pay and register for med cards..so you're getting bent...
Read moreI have never been overly impressed with this place. However my husband was berated by the owner yesterday and mocked as he was leaving the store. We had purchased some bulbs from them around 6 months ago. They are no longer carrying them because they could be a potential fire hazard. My husband asked if that was why they had the big sale on them. The owner refused to answer my husbands question, and then mocked him as he left. Telling him to 'hurry home, that they may be burning right now'.
The owner was also not wearing a mask, which at this point was state mandated. None of the employees or other customers were being asked to wear one either.
I will not be going back here ever again. With so many grow supply stores around, this one is not needed. It is a real shame because he has a few employees that were helpful and seemed...
