As expected, I arrived at my appointment to a lobby full of other brides, their family and friends awaiting their other party of people to show up. I arrived by myself ready to look at dresses without my mom (passed away) and friends (not available to come with) which I was fine with. This was my very first experience shopping for my wedding dress. My consultant found me amidst the crowd and led me away to an office to finish obtaining all my info before the start of trying on dresses. I really had no idea what I wanted other than to try on dresses that were plus sized. They had me try on 1 or 2 dresses over my budget (which from what I hear some places do just because you could fall in love with them and decide to pay more) , and then a few within. I had no idea what to look for other than my size, but she did try to help pick out the a-line dresses I thought would be best for my shape. I liked 1 dress out of ALL they had. I mainly looked in this little corner for plus size girls under $1000 and there wasn't too much that caught my eye. The dress I liked wasn't available yet because it was a temporary trunk show for next year's Mori Lee line and over $1200. The consultant was pretty nice to me but i just didn't feel anything "clicking" so my appointment wasn't great. She gave me a bolero to try on 2 sizes too small and it was hard to get an idea of what it was supposed to look like, and I am really turned off by them now (see photo). I had a fairly private area to get ready in, which was better than David's Bridal. But I really didn't have any luck with finding dresses as a new bride in "unknown waters". They seemed to have alot of dresses throughout the shop as i walked through, but i guess if your looking in the plus size 22-24 range $1000 and under, the picking is slim here. I found "my/the" dress at another bridal boutique. I know 2 friends who have found their dresses here and loved them, but they are smaller sized than me, not sure what the budget was, so it's just not for everyone. I would still recommend trying them out, because they did try, I just didn't find what I was looking for, almost, but not quite. Maybe bring 1 friend along that is truthful and helpful. It's good to try a couple of places before you say yes...
Read moreChris was amazing! She had a great selection set aside for me when I arrived and she totally understood my vision. I did go in with a dress that I had found on the website, really hoping I could try it on. My wedding date however is May 25th 2024, I just got engaged in December, which means I would have to rush ship really anything that wasn’t off the rack. This did not limit me at all though! Chris was so thorough in explaining how rush works, the pros and the cons. I so appreciated her transparency. After trying on a couple off the rack, Chris suggested we shop around and try to find the dress I had come in with! From across the room we saw the dress and it was like there were lights shining down on it! Just for me! The dress was a couple of sizes too small, but not too much that I couldn’t try it on. Due to it not being off the rack however, we had to wait and see if there was one available to ship at all, and in my size. Chris suggested I wait to try on the dress and try on a some more in case it isn’t available, we don’t want to get our hopes up. I so appreciated that. She helped me while we waited create and find my vision with the dresses we did have. But then, we found out they were able to rush ship one closer to my size. I was SO ecstatic and grateful they took the time to look into it. As soon as we got the word I got in that dress and wow. Though it was a couple sizes too small, I was still able to see all of its potential and I did’t even care, I felt so beautiful. As soon as I slid it on, it felt perfect. And if it may be a little small still in the size we are rush shipping, Chris mentioned a corsette to add to the back and took the time to explain and place it so I could see that option. Not only was it way more comfortable, but added so much character to the dress! So I purchased that as well. Needless to say, I am so in love. My dress is expected to be done 3/27, almost 2 whole months before the wedding! I am so grateful! I got my dream dress and the process was seamless. Thank you so much Chris &...
Read moreI went in looking for a last-minute wedding dress Due to an unfortunate disaster that happened with my first dress. I told the assistant my tight budget of 1500. She brought out a dress that was my absolute dream and instantly fell in love. She told me it was going to be a little over the budget at 1800 but since I had $100 off scratch off in store it would be 1700$. She told me it was technically the model dress, which they are not typically sold same day, but that she would make it work for me due to my situation. I was so grateful that she was being so amazing with me and helping me figure out this situation. I was over the moon, we picked out a veil and I was super excited to have this moment. Upon going to the front desk, The assistant told me my total was going to be $2045. When I told her that sounds like a little bit much she said that the dress was $2000. I let her know that she told me multiple times that the dress was going to be 1800+ $100 discount due to my in-store discount. She said she apologized but it is $2000. My mother-in-law and I asked well what about the snags in the dress and all of the wear since it is the model? She told us that there was nothing she could do and that they have to make enough money from the dress to bring back into the store. I completely understand doing business, but leading a bride to believe that she has found her dream dress in her budget and spending so much time just to tell me that you won’t work with me to make this work was very heartbreaking as I could not afford to spend this much money due to the short amount of time. she had told me upwards of five or six times that it was going to be $1700 plus tax. I was still stretching my budget but willing to do this as this dress was literally perfect. I was just very heartbroken and distressed that they would do nothing to meet me halfway and just kept saying I’m sorry it’s going to be $2000. Very unfortunate and lost a sale:/ just make sure to check the price tag before you try on to avoid this...
