Fox Bros. Piggly Wiggly — Local services in Village of Richfield

Update: 10/12/20- This store is the one of the worst places to shop if you care about people wearing masks. It is a small store and every time I’ve been there since the pandemic, at least 20% of the customers are without masks.

Original review: I live close by to this store and used to stop by often on my way home from work. Recently, I was at the store and witnessed an older male employee basically harassing a young female employee down the hallway toward the employee break room / rest room areas. He was animately telling her she needed to vote and that she shouldn’t be “uneducated” and she was clearly flustered. She raised her hands in the air and walked over to the service desk, where I was waiting, and spoke to the employee behind the desk, telling her that this male employee was hounding her and making her uncomfortable. Then she went to her register. As a parent and teacher, I felt I needed to advocate for her. I saw the store manager had walked out of the store to his car, so I approached him and told him what I saw and that as a customer I didn’t feel it was good. He basically justified the behavior of the older male employee and said “that’s just how that employee is” and said that he himself was also telling the young girl that since she’s 18 she needs to vote, etc. I said I really didn’t feel it was his place as her boss to be telling her anything about how she lives her life outside of work, and as a customer I found it upsetting to see the young girl being bothered by an older man. My favorite things about shopping here are the friendly staff and getting free stuff when you’re a top shopper it makes it fun to go there! I also like how easy everything is to find. The downside is that sometimes when I shop for fruit I see moldy fruit up for sale. The first few times I actually bought it and didn’t notice mold until I got home and it was too late. Now I look at the fruit really well before buying. I feel like the staff should be doing that and taking the moldy stuff off the shelves. The only other thing is that we aren’t a big fan of the fox brothers cheeses so we buy different brands. Back on a positive note the prices here are good especially when things are on sale. I’m an Instacart shopper and find it very difficult to shop at your store without wifi… the app just doesn’t work and cell service is extremely weak. Last year I attempted to shop an order here but I had to cancel because I couldn’t get the app to work. Today I thought I’d try again, thinking that maybe you’d added wifi. Nope. I was able to shop the order (barely) but could not communicate with the customer or make substitutions.

I stopped by the service desk to inquire about the possibility of wifi being added to your store, and I got a stare-down and then an indifferent shrug from your customer service person.

Every other store I shop in has wifi available. Please consider adding it or I will drive to a different Piggly Wiggly in order to to...
