Sandpiper Beach Shop — Local services in Virginia Beach

I bought a beach chair from them on my first day of vacation. It broke in the FIRST HOUR of use. So, I bring it back to the store. First off, store "policy" is no money back. That's a little bit frustrating. I'm now skeptical of the quality of your goods and all you'll offer me is essentially to trade it for more low quality goods. You won't give me my money back. I understand the choice given the nature of a beach shop and the need to stop people from returning goods after a week of vacation use, but you clearly sold me a bad product.

Okay, so let's just exchange it, but they gave me a problem over that because I no longer have the receipt. Now, I'm a little bit angry. Again, I don't think it's a ridiculous policy for most situations. Let's face it, though. Who keeps receipts? And I'm not trying to just return something I don't want. Again, your product broke in about 40 minutes of use. After a considerable amount of debate with a woman who was less than friendly and cordial, I was finally able to get her to give me a slip for "store credit".

So, I return a few days later with my wife ready to use the store credit on something and choose a nice fluffy sweater for her. She's happy so I'm happy. Until we get home and realize that there are holes in the stitching of the pockets of the sweater and the items she put in those pockets fell out somewhere.

Nice little tourist shop...nothing exceptional, but be prepared to spend here! The prices on most things in here was beyond expensive!! The hoodie prices are premium designer prices! Little trinkets or magnet momentos are like 5-15 bucks or more..... 1 tiny wooden surfboard with our sons name on it, 2 va beach hoodies and a little stuffy that fits in the palm of your hand was over 89 dollars.....and the place is packed all the time as well so beware of...

Small beach shop that's good for picking up some souvenirs from your trip to Sandbridge. You can expect your normal assortment of beach t-shirts and toys and such, and a few locally made offerings to choose from, too. Friendly staff. Busy but plenty of parking when I was there on a Saturday morning on our way out of town. Easily accessible...
