After being at Sandbridge beach, for a few hours, we cross the street to the sandwich island restaurant, which did not disappoint. We were greeted by a young man that took us to a table and asked us if it was OK for us, since we wanted to be in a place, that was cool enough. They also have outdoor seating and a large dining room, area to fit their guests. Our waiter, Luke, was personable and attentive. There’s a long list of libations as well as nonalcoholic beverages. We had a beer on tap and a frozen piña colada. We did not have to wait very long. The menu was full of steamed or fried choices as well as sandwiches. We opted for fried clam strips and fried shrimps. Both plates are served with fries, but our service suggested we could also try the hush puppies for an extra dollar. That was a great deal. I should arrive pretty quick, and it was hot and delicious. The basket to share with a coleslaw, which is sprinkled with cayenne pepper. We asked for tartar sauce, and it was tasty and delicious. We also pleasantly surprised by the fact that they gave us an entire squeeze bottle of it. They definitely don’t skimp on their tartar sauce for the patriots. Two thumbs, up to that! We’ve been to places where they actually give us a little bit of tartar sauce, and if we asked for a second state, want to charge us more. The restaurant is Homie and the prices are just right. But the best part of it is that the food is well prepared, and the service is quick and affable. This establishment is closed on Tuesdays, and we learned that they have Mondays and Wednesdays different adult activities. I can be very fun, like music, bingo, and karaoke. We will definitely come back. If you’re in the area or visiting Sandbridge beach, make it a point to visit in Sandbridge Island restaurant, and bring your family because everybody is welcome. I also want to comment that I visit the ladies room and it was in pretty...
Read moreIt was pretty busy, food came out fast! Place was not that clean, very run down and looked dirty. Service was okay, but the food was not good. At the end of the meal, the waitress asked how the food was and we said it wasn't very good. The waitress shrugged her shoulders, said oh im sorry and walked away. A few of us had Cocktails, they were okay but WAY overpriced for a specific drink. Appetizers were the best part of the meal and I think that's because it was deep fried. The Blackened Scallops tasted like someone dumped Salt on them or really had no taste buds. The Steak, SO AWFUL!! I think Denny's or IHOP steak would be better, if you can imagine that. The Steak had no seasoning, it was overcooked and just so gross. Overall, it was 7 of us (2 kids) and only 3 of us had 1 Cocktail each, the bill was $270. The kids had Pizza, that was actually really good along with Mozerellla sticks, Jalepeno poppers and French fries. Don't come here for great Seafood/Steak as you will be SO disappointed and your wallet will be empty. We left there, went next door to the store and had to spend $60 in Snacks as everyone was still hungry. As much tourism as I could imagine they get, they should do an overhaul of that place and put some of the $ back into the restaurant. We are here for an entire week on vacation and we (7 people) would have come back more than a few times this week if the food was decent but we will now be exploring other restaurants because this place was...
Read moreI have never written a negative review on any restaurant but this place is horrible. Let’s start with being seated outside as inside was crowded but it was Friday May 12th and beautiful outside. As we are seated we notice lots of flies. Yes I know, wait for a table inside but other people were outside and I needed the sun. Now, the tables were cleaned but the trash can on the deck and standing stations were littered with flies. Come on manager can’t we clean these? Next we get our drinks and our dinner arrives rather quickly which was great. Now mind you our waitress never got our she crab soup to us. Now a fly lands in my wife’s wine. As we waited. 25 minutes for our waitress to return I go inside and find her to get our check. It is not her fault it was busy. She was told about the wine and missing soup and I just needed the check. She returns and takes off the soup but I have to see the manager about the wine. Had our waitress checked on us earlier we could have let her know about the fly that was drowning in my wife’s drink. As a local, we are always at the beach but our food was mediocre at best but the service had a lot to be desired. They are lucky as so many tourists visit Sandbridge because this place wouldn’t make it a week in any other setting. Head to Bajas at the other end...
