One star for price BS!
Three stars for having decent fresh produce and a good selection of products. But who cares if EVERY TIME I shop here I am charged more than the listed price for at least one item! ⦠AND their digital coupons are unscanable! The scan squares are so small my iPhone canāt see it! Look at how small it is and how much empty space there is for a larger scan code that cameras can actually read! š¤Æ
So then I have to take a picture & bring it up the cashier - HAND MY UNLOCKED PHONE OVER so they can find and apply it for me while everyone behind me waits as well! Today they charged me $13.49 for eggs on sale for $10.99 and $4.99 for Yogurt that was listed on sale for $4.49! A three dollar difference. Petty? Maybe. They gave me $4 for my trouble - because I am not the norm! Most wonāt notice or wonāt want to speak up for themselves. Ask yourself how much money theyāre making in extra profits if they charged each customer an average of $2-$3/transaction more?
These recurring - EVERY TIME I GO HERE - shopping experiences are what I call price BS! Why do I continue shopping here when Iām essentially āvotingā (with my dollars spent there) for such treatment in the future by going back now?! Good question!š§
Check your Save Mart receipts before leaving the store!
I need to find a new market that has good reasonably priced organic produce - which this market didnāt really...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHere is why I rated Save Mart a 3 out of 5, for started they are wayyyyyyy to expensive for this current economy. I get wanting to maintain the current profit margins and also still be able to pay their very welcoming and generous employees well. They need to redo their entire marketing plan if they are going to continue to survive. Their prices are not competitive at all. I went in there because I wanted some crystals hot sauce and it was priced at $4.50. I politely put it back and went next door to Walmart and got a bottle three that size and paid their very welcoming same amount. The fish selection would great, if the fish was actually fresh and the smoke salmon is almost always expired and has a smell to it. I go into this store and purchase 6 items and walked out paying $76 dollars for literally chips, baby cucumbers, strawberries, burger buns, and 2 packs of gum and a 4 pack of protein shakes. Like letās be serious, if this is how you all at Save Mart repay your loyal customers, then this business will slowly but for surely go under like all the other high priced grocery stores. Do your customers a favor and lower your prices in this already inflated economy. I donāt care if you have to go to the fields and hand pick all of your produce yourself something has to give. Iām trying to remain loyal but Walmart has been calling my name more and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI haven't always felt quite comfortable shopping here. The staff is quite rude and cold: at least those at the counter of the deli and registers. They might greet you, but it seems distant and insincere. Previously, when picking up some items from the deli, my fiancee was served with very poor customer service. Yesterday we went to get some bread and dried chiles to make tortas ahogadas. The dried Chile selection was pitiful! At a sister store, FoodMaxx, Save Mart doesn't hesitate in tailoring to the poorer surrounding community by making more ethnic foods available; so why not here? This makes me feel a little weird shopping here. Anyways; not too big a deal. While shopping we finally going the chillies. I could not make it the price tag completely. When I got to the register, I simply wanted to bring the issue to the attention of Lenny, the gentleman at the register. He must have been having a long day because he seemed inattentive to us as customers. I told him. He didn't say anything. After paying her told me to tell "that guy over there"; it was a gentleman working the floor. I simply complied. In hindsight, I thought you myself, "Wait I don't work here. You tell him!" I sense if you seem to look wealthy your treated differently here. We don't go here too often. We'll probably try and find another deli...
