Poor greeting and Poor communication is the tagline to this review...or maybe the Aloof Barber 💈
I walked in and two gentlemen were present. One barber was cutting another guys hair and the other which I presumed was available barely lifted his eyes from the phone.
The barber that was working asked if I had an appointment, I replied 'no: I'm just a walk in.
The two barbers whispered amongst themselves for about what seemed like one or two minutes. Not letting me know whether or not they could take me.
They didn't communicate whether or not they were able to take me or give me a time estimate of when they could give me a haircut. As they vacillated back and forth without keeping me in the loop I was just about to walk out and the busy barber said 'okay, I can take you just as soon as I finish this gentleman here.' At which point I was thinking to myself why couldn't the barber who was doing nothing but sitting in a chair likely going through his Instagram do a quick cut on my hair.
A third barber walked in and the busy barber had spoke to him and asked if he would take me at which point I got my haircut.
The disappointing part of the story is nobody communicated to me as I was sitting there waiting for some type of communication whether or not they can cut my hair.
As other patrons started to come in and I was getting my haircut they offered drinks to them. I do not recall them offering me a drink as well. I've got to say overall poor service and especially poor communication.
My barber Christian was awesome and the only reason why this place is getting two stars. I don't plan on coming back but I hope they do well as this is a time and age where businesses need to treat every customer well. If you do come in ask for Christian Medina. He's a nice guy and a pretty good barber.
So... 'whatever happened to the barber that was just on his phone?' You may ask.
He was literally sitting there on his phone for easily 20-30 minutes before he actually had a customer come in. So I think basically he didn't want to cut hair but had to stay for an appointment that he had booked. This is fine and all but at least just say hey I have an appointment coming otherwise I would be able to take care of you. It's unfortunate that none of this was communicated to me and as a result gives off a poor image.
Ambiance: It looks like they did a half effort on making the place a bit hip. All black and white motif with some current music. Playing on vevo videos. Some beer and sodas in a mini fridge for customers that are waiting (evidently not me though). Unfortunately the poorly painted walls and the really harsh lighting is the place a slightly shabby look. This is unfortunate since they had likely a good vision in mind. Just...
Read moreLet me just say — this was one of the best haircut experiences I’ve ever had, and it’s all thanks to Franky.
From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was on another level. The environment was absolutely luxurious — clean, sleek, and modern with a calm, elevated vibe. You can tell every detail was curated for comfort and style, from the lighting and music to the high-end furnishings and the way the space just made you feel relaxed and taken care of.
And then there’s Franky — the true star of the show. He was welcoming, professional, and incredibly attentive from start to finish. He took his time to ask what I was going for, offered helpful suggestions without being pushy, and really paid attention to the little things. You can tell he’s passionate about his craft and genuinely cares about getting it just right.
The haircut itself? Awesome. I walked out looking and feeling better than I have in a long time. Franky’s precision and eye for detail were spot on — clean lines, perfect fade, everything exactly how I wanted it. But it wasn’t just a haircut; it was a whole experience. I felt like I was getting the VIP treatment the entire time.
Franky also dropped some great grooming advice and product tips that I’ll definitely be putting to use. It’s clear he’s not just there to give you a cut and send you on your way — he’s there to make sure you feel confident and look your best long after you leave the chair.
If you’re looking for a top-tier haircut in a space that feels high-end and inviting, Franky is your guy. I won’t be going anywhere else from now on. Highly,...
Read moreShort version: definitely the place to go to. Schedule an appointment (which they make easy). Giovani is a true master of his craft.
Longer version: I am 3 months into starting fresh in the area (moved from the Bay Area) and have had 2 barbers in the last 7 years. So when I was looking for a new shop I could be a returning customer A LOT of boxes needed to be checked. Needless to say this shop definitely hits all boxes. Even when in the chair and I was asked how I found this place, I said google/reviews. He talked through some of the “so-so” reviews and it didn’t phase me away from their service. Customers can have off days and so can staff. The day I visited was a totally new day with a new slate.
As soon as I walked in, I was greeted, asked if I had an appointment (and I did), got immediately seated and then Giovani asked me 3 questions of how I want my hair (and I brought 1 photo reference to make it easier) and then he went to WORK. One of the best hair cuts I have ever had and a great conversation to go with it.
Highly recommend!! I’ll be returning for sure!
Prices are on par with todays haircut prices. And the value of the service...
