I received a Groupon as a gift $60 promotional value ($35 face value).
1st time we went there (3 of us) we ordered a lot of food to make sure we hit the $60 value (bill was around $80-100). The food was decent but service was slow. Once the check came in, they wouldn't let us use the Groupon because it had a *min of 4 people requirement in fine print - even though we ordered a TON of food enough for 4-5 people.
We just went again last night (2nd time) to use the Groupon - at this time, the promotional value had expired, so we wanted to at least use face value (amount paid) of $35, this time there were 6 of us. Service again was slow, and the food was subpar for the prices. The menu has a 50% off rolls everyday section, which makes the $18 caterpillar roll better sounding at $9.
When ordering, I asked the waiter if they had a kids menu. He insisted they didn't, at which point my friend mentioned she saw a kids menu section on the menu. The waiter's response was "We don't have a kids menu, we have a kids meal" .. when asked about the difference between a kids meal and a kids menu, he started mumbling and didn't give us a reasonable response.
Comes the bill, we give the waiter the Groupon and we were notified that if we use the Groupon, we couldn't use the 50% off rolls "promotion" .. even though we were doing the Groupon at face value and not promotional value. Overall, we saved $2 on the final out of pocket by using the Groupon. How does this make sense??
Oh! And on top of it, since our party was 6 (4 adults 2 kids), the waiter automatically charged us 20% tip (when their website says it's 18%)
Anyway, long winded way to say we will not be going there again. Go there if you want to pay for overpriced subpar rolls with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is, absolutely, the most terrible Sushi place I have EVER been to. First off, the "hostess" just handed me a piece of paper with the names of the rolls on it. I understand that most rolls are the same wherever you go, but THEY HAD MENUS, she just didn't give me one. Second, I didn't even get my water until AFTER my roll had come out. The guy that worked behind the bar (maybe the owner) was so completely rude. It was shocking. I was asking questions about the different rolls and he was so mean to me about it. My co-worker and I both ordered a California roll, and then we ordered a Dynamite roll to share. The California roll was fine, but when we got the Dynamite, we were both in disgust. It was not a roll whatsoever. It was literally a pile of mush on a plate covered with foil, with cheese baked on top. It was not a roll at all. When we asked the guy about it, he got MAD. Um, excuse me? It's a Dynamite ROLL that we ordered not a pile of fish thrown in a toaster. He immediately told the hostess to go get our checks. The man literally kicked us out of the place, for being unsatisfied. I still can't believe how rude he was. That is no way to run a business. Not one that's going to make it, anyway. And to top it off, the place was filthy, the walls and counters were dirty, it was awful. I went out of my comfort zone, and decided to try something else (other than Loveboat sushi in San Marcos - BEST EVER) and I will NEVER and I repeat NEVER go...

So we came here our 1st time on my birthday last year! Then again on our anniversary. Both times were amazing. Tonight was sickening and disturbing. So we arrived at 7 and ordered immediately because we knew what we wanted before arriving. We were given Styrofoam cups while all other patrons received glass glassware. Even after requesting glass, we were denied yet the next patrons received it. We waited over an hour as others were served around us and finally when a couple arriving 30 minutes after us received items we ordered and did not receive we left I am so disappointed that this great place has declined to be so disappointing šSo that was obviously a bad server but we have gone back twice and had an excellent experience. #exploringmyworld #wilinwithwiley Valentina our server was incredible and provided amazing service.
