Urban Teri Kitchen — Restaurant in Vista

Food is ABOVE AND BEYOND SUPERB!!!!!! and nostalgic of Hawaiian food from Honolulu, Hawaii where I am from. We bought the Teriyaki chicken plate, short rib plate, and Korean fried chicken plate, and nothing was left after dinner. The macaroni salad, rice, and salad were all such a treat to have as well and the price is on point!

For a Hawaiian girl like me, this is the closest you will ever get to eating Hawaiian food freshly grilled to perfection. The short rib is delicious, juicy, tender, and not oily or salty. The chicken katsu is light, crispy, flaky, not greasy, or heavy, but deep fried to the right temperature. Asian fried chicken had the great balance of sweet and citrus flavors which melted in your mouth! Put it this way, it was like eating a 5 star restaurant quality food hidden in a small shack in Vista, CA.

The restaurant is clean, organized, and decor is modern with a twist of Korean influence, and the employees were nice, friendly, and welcoming. I highly suggest you ditch your prior Hawaiian food/Korean restaurants and give this place a try because after once taste, your HOOKED!

Having been here twice, I can confidently say this restaurant surpasses L&L Barbecue in my book. The food on both occasions has been nothing short of fantastic. My go-to, the #2 Teriyaki Beef with extra rice, was utterly delicious and boasted an incredible aroma. I love that each meal includes a small salad, and the portioning is ideal – satisfying without leaving you feeling uncomfortably full. The thinly sliced beef is cooked to perfection, beautifully glazed with just the right amount of sauce. The rice, too, is spot on: perfectly sticky with a delightful chew. Beyond the amazing food, the service is always friendly and remarkably fast. An added bonus is the entertaining Korean music videos playing, which adds to the overall atmosphere. I'm genuinely thrilled they've opened here and highly recommend everyone give them a try!

If you have been craving QUALITY food that hits your soul, start running to Urban Teri. This was so much better than L&L Hawaiian BBQ (and I love L&L).

Teriyaki Chicken Plate: This was seriously the best teriyaki chicken I’ve ever had. This is NOT your basic bento box teriyaki that you get at the local sushi store. I’ve never had such a juicy piece of teriyaki chicken. You can tell from the first bite that this is a homemade carefully crafted recipe. If it’s your first time here, GET THIS.

Korean Fried Chicken Plate: This is top tier korean fried chicken. As a korean, this is the flavor I think of when I want to get korean fried chicken. It’s sweet, savory, and has that mama’s touch that I haven’t tasted since I moved out of my mom’s house.
