I pawned an item approx 3 weeks ago. I stopped by there earlier today to retrieve my property and pay off loan plus fees. After I paid off in full for my property, after waiting in store for approx 1 hour, was finally told them had lost my property! They said they would continue to look for my property and call me if and when it turned up. This store should be closed down by the OCCC! Their license should be suspended! Am going back before closing to try and retrieve my property. Or they can replace It with new merchandise! Would not do business with this shop again even at gun point! Highly recommended you avoid this place! UPDATE: HOW THIS STORY ENDED. I did not try to contact EZ Pawn over the weekend, but went back Monday morning at approx 10am. Upon arrival I spoke with an employee who told me “Stephanie”, the manager, was not in but they could call her. I asked them to please go ahead and call her to inquire what she planned on doing in order to make this right. After a few mins the employee informed me again that “Stephanie” would have to contact corporate headquarters to see exactly how to proceed, and they would contact me after speaking with their corporate office. I asked how long this might take and again received no answer. On Tuesday, the following day, I received a call from “Stephanie”, and she proposed that they just pay me what the scanner costs ($649.99), along with an additional $75 for the programming Uniden had performed on my scanner when I originally purchased it. I told her that would work and I would stop by after work that day. After the phone call, I added up what I had paid originally for the scanner that they “lost”. With the programming, tax, and it had an after-market antenna on it ($39.99), the total cost at time of original purchases was approx $825. I thought about it for a little while, and thought I should take their offer of $725. I didn’t have the money for an attorney to sue them and it would have been a civil matter according to the police. I could take the $725 and add $100 to it and replace it just like it was when they lost it. So I went by after work and signed a form stating that I agreed to this deal and this would be an end to this and that I couldn’t sue them, etc. Stephanie payed me $725 in cash. Before I left I asked her if she thought she had some employee theft taking place, and she assured me that wasn’t the case… that all of her employees had been there for a long time, and wrote it off as just being misplaced somewhere in their back room. I told her if they happen to find it anytime soon, please contact me and I would gladly give them the $725 back for my property and explained I was actually taking a $100 loss on this deal. I exited the store and drove home. Now I have something to add to this review. The employees that were working on Friday did apologize after looking for my property for a hour and then having to come tell me they could not find it. But not once, when speaking to Stephanie on the phone two different times, or when I came in to sign the paperwork to get money to replace my property, did Stephanie say she was sorry for losing my property. Matter of fact, she had a freaking attitude the entire time. She was not apologetic at all, and not very friendly to say the least. If I had been in her shoes, I think I would have accepted that my store had lost a customers property and in no way was it the customers fault. She never said we apologize for this mishap and hope we do find your property soon so you can purchase it back from us. Not once! So to sum it up, EZ Pawn paid me $725 for my scanner which originally cost me approx $825, and acted like they did me a favor while doing it! Stephanie definitely sealed the deal with her attitude and I can Guarantee that will be the last time I ever walk into EZ Pawn located at 301 East Waco Dr. Thanks for losing my property and then paying me approx $100 less than it will take to replace it….i really appreciate it! Hope you all have a great day! Sincerely,...
Read moreI truly hate to write a bad review—but my experience at the East Waco EZ Pawn location was so terrible that I feel obligated to warn others. This is, without question, the worst pawn shop I have ever visited. From the moment you walk in, you’re met with a horrible smell and an unwelcoming atmosphere. No greeting, no smile, no acknowledgment—just complete indifference. Unfortunately, my encounter with Tommy, the sales rep, was the absolute low point. He was rude, dismissive, and clearly unwilling to help. However, the poor service didn’t stop there—Nicole and Wendy also failed to greet, acknowledge, or assist me in any way.
I gave this location two chances: the first time, the store was packed, so I left thinking maybe they were overwhelmed. I came back when it was empty, yet the treatment was exactly the same—cold, unhelpful, and unprofessional.
I understand that everyone can have an off day, but that does not excuse treating a customer with poor...
